Dressing Room Essentials
Hi! Doing shows over the years and having dressing rooms has let me pick up a few tips on how to pack for a show effectively. Being in community theatre, we often have to share dressing rooms which can be fun or annoying depending on who you share with (it's mostly fun). That being said, it gives you a limited amount of mirror and overall dressing room space. Here I'll give you a few tips on how to get the most out of your space and a few lifesaving dressing room essentials.

'Call Me By Your Name' Review
Call Me By Your Name, directed by Luca Guadagnino and adapted for the screen by James Ivory, is an achingly beautiful film. Laced with sensuality and lust, of unguarded beauty and need, it’s a story of music prodigy Elio's (Timothee Chalamet) romantic awakening when an American student, Oliver (Armie Hammer), comes to stay at the family home for the summer in sumptuous Northern Italy. It evokes such a magnetic and intense rendition of love that it can often feel overwhelming. It’s a tale of uncertainty and longing.

How I Learn My Scripts
Hi! I'm a training actress and I perform multiple different shows every year. The learning process changes from show to show, for example the process for learning a play is quite different from learning a musical. Today I will be covering my process for learning musical scripts but I will cover my process for plays in another post! In my theatre company, we do not use the word “memorize” because it implies that we only know the words on the paper with no real meaning behind it. Instead we are told to “learn” each line so every movement and phrase has a meaning. Currently I am performing in Little Shop Of Horrors the musical.

After ‘Black Panther’
When you fight for a seat at the table long enough, it seems that you get to run the table—for a minute, anyway. That’s one takeaway from Black Panther’s already phenomenal success—a success whose casting and narrative essence force Hollywood to make some overdue decisions on casting that the industry can’t avoid.

In case you missed it, Queen Elizabeth and Anna Wintour are now best friends. Okay, fine, they’re two awesome women who have met on at least two occasions and then hung out at London Fashion Week, and we’re going to go ahead and call that best friends. I mean, Anna’s own daughter did:

Movie Review: 'Game Night'
When John Francis Daly and directing partner Jonathan Goldstein directed the utterly abysmal remake of Vacation I thought for sure I would never want to see their work ever again. Vacation is a vile and putrid remake of the beloved National Lampoon-Chevy Chase comedy that replaced that films’ humor with some of the ugliest and nastiest lowest common denominator gags imaginable.

Shows Everyone Needs to Watch
Almost too often I have those days where I finish a show I was currently watching, just to have no idea of what I should start to watch next. I like to watch a variety of different genres, but usually not the same type back to back. Unfortunately, in my “recommended shows,” I am only referenced to other shows which are eerily similar to the one I just finished. Sadly, I scroll through the selections, just to get overwhelmed by all the choices I have, and get too annoyed reading the pilot synopsis that I scroll back to my “watch again” category and decide from there what show I will rewatch, AGAIN.

The Number One Reason the DCEU Is Not Failing
Ever since Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (BVS: DoJ) released in theaters to jump-start the future films of the DCEU, fans on both sides of the comic book divide have been going back and forth about whether the DC Comics' recent post-Dark Knight Trilogy films are good or bad. Yes, Man of Steel came out first and technically began the franchise known today as the DCEU, but the whole "controversy" of fans vs critics began with Batman vs Superman.
