Power Can Be Held in the Smallest of Things: Celebrating the Ridiculous Attention to Detail in the 'Lord of the Rings' Franchise
Whether it be the hobbits or the ring itself, the Lord of the Rings trilogy is essentially a lesson on how small things can often make a huge difference. A rather fitting notion, considering that it also perfectly sums up Tolkien's phenomenon on the whole. Simply put, he didn't just set out to tell a story, but rather to create a world so detailed, so vibrant, that it really feels more like reading up on actual history than make-believe. Therefore, if one was ever going to successfully bring these stories onto silver screen, there was only one way for going about it: by being more obsessed with detail than Gollum with his precious.

'I,Tonya' Review
Plot Summary: A manic twist on the life of shamed figure skater Tonya Harding. "There’s no such thing as truth.” Those are the words of Tonya Harding (Margot Robbie) as she sits in a run-down kitchen. With a wry smile on her face and a cigarette in her hand, the disgraced figure skater reiterates the forewarning of Craig Gillespie’s twisted biopic to a vintage camcorder. Some of this is real. A lot of it isn’t. But what does it matter? Adopting this nihilistic view of truth as a mantra, what follows is a frenzied, unbelievable story that deliberately blurs fact and fiction.

Movie Review: 'Death Wish'
I went into Eli Roth’s remake of Charles Bronson’s Death Wish expecting to come out angry and ready for a fight. I was expecting to be offended and spend some time writing about the poor timing of a film release that deifies the gun industry just days after the deaths of high school students in Parkland, Florida. I do have some of that righteous indignation built up in my mind but the reality of Death Wish is so boring I can barely stir up the outrage to pan it.

Viewers Want These 'Arrow' Teammates Gone: What Will Become of Dinah, Curtis, and Rene?
Viewers aren't happy with the team-up of Curtis, Dinah, and Rene, otherwise known as Mr. Terrific, Black Canary, and Wild Dog. The writers have written the team into a corner and taken them past the point of no return with the most recent episode (6.14). It will be difficult for any member to be redeemed to the point where they can rejoin Team Arrow, and quite frankly, viewers would much rather see them leave the show.

Movie Review: 'Red Sparrow'
Red Sparrow is a lurid, trashy, and violent spy thriller in which Jennifer Lawrence stars as a ballet dancer turned sexy spy. If you are going to enjoy Red Sparrow, you need to make sure you are in the proper mindset. If you go in expecting a classy spy thriller, you may find yourself disappointed; Red Sparrow is a frightful and tawdry spy thriller brimming with violence, torture, and sex.

In order to properly answer the question what does it mean to be a geek? one must first define the word "geek." There are, of course, a few different definitions for it. Not to mention, to be a geek can mean something completely different for everyone who identifies as one, thus making it more personal to oneself.
