Stop Book-Shaming
By now I am sure we are all familiar with the act of book-shaming. Perhaps you tell people you don't like a certain book when you do. Maybe you are too embarrassed to read a particular book in public, or maybe you won't even read a certain book at all because you feel ashamed. If this or anything similar has happened to you (and I'm sure it's happened to a lot of us) you have been a victim of book-shaming.

A Fun Twist in the Week
A week ago yesterday, I was just surfing the internet and checking my email. Like other Hamilton fanatics might do, I play the Lottery daily. Side note about the app: you can download the app on your phone and have at it. There’s also a three question trivia.

A Dedicated Fan Campaign Has Remained Strong After Netflix's Cancellation of 'Everything Sucks!' Over a Month Ago
I previously wrote about the premature cancellation of the Netflix original series Everything Sucks! and how an online campaign was immediately formed in hopes of convincing the service to reverse their decision.

DC vs Marvel: Should We Be United or Rivals?
Can't we all just get along in this one article? Note to self, this was written a year before Avengers: Infinity War. The three points I'll be making will be depicted and contrast from fans vs the two studios. Personally, I'm a DC fan but I enjoy Marvel films back in the day. But loved how DC once was in 2008 before CG/special effects got more advanced. From here on out I won't be picking sides, but judging both.

'Watchmen:' A Review
Before I begin, I'll offer a fair warning that this review may contain story spoilers, and is about the graphic novel only, not the movie. The Watchmen story written by Alan Moore, with art by Dave Gibbons and colorist John Higgins was, up until recently, the most well-known graphic novel I knew virtually nothing about. In fact, that I knew up to that point was only really what I had drawn from the movie adaptation by Zack Snyder, the director's cut which amounted to something three hours long and sometimes confusing.

Ranking the Movies of 2018: Week 17
Watching Juno, the classic on the latest Everyone’s a Critic Movie Podcast, was a revelation. It was an experience for me similar to the revelations I had watching Amadeus and There Will Be Blood as re-watches for the podcast. These were movies that I had always been aware that I liked but watching them with fresh eyes, a more mature perspective, changed the way I looked at them.

"I've Always Wanted to Try Stand Up"
I've been doing stand up for two years now, and it's become one of my greatest passions and favorite things to do. Every time I talk to someone about it, or I see a new comic performing for the first time, that phrase always comes up in some way or another, and is usually followed by, "but I don't know how," or, "but I'm not brave enough to do it." Not only is it way easier than you'd think, but once you try it, the fun and excitement of it outweighs the nerves. If you're thinking about starting stand up comedy, go for it! It's never too late to start, and it's surprisingly easy to get going. I'm here to offer encouraging words and advice for those considering stand up and those just starting out.

The Film Language of 'Juno'
For some, the language of Juno is like nails on a chalkboard. Eliot Page's rapid-fire, pop dialogue from the mind of writer Diablo Cody is like a piece of music. For some, it's a symphony, for others, its a cacophony. I'm on the symphony side. I love the small beats, the large reaches, and the way the dialogue is urgently important to the character of Juno.
