'General Hospital' Nina's deception leads to extensive collateral damage in Port Charles

Nina Reeves is deceiving her friends and loved ones on GENERAL HOSPITAL by keeping the fact hidden that Sonny is alive and well in Nixon Falls. Port Charles residents continue to suffer the consequences of Ms. Reeves actions and the list is growing. Viewers are demanding that Sonny return home soon so that some of the damage might be undone. If he delays there is no telling whose life will be disrupted next, Let's take a look at what has already transpired.

Ellie and Spinelli

The most recent collateral damage to arise because of Nina's deception is the marriage of Damian Spinelli and Ellie Trout Spinelli. GENERAL HOSPITAL viewers have been discussing how since the couple's return to Port Charles Ellie was always off-screen babysitting Maxie's children Georgie and James. A number of fans were hoping that she might join her husband on camera but that is not the way it turned out. Last week a distraught Damian shared with Diane Miller and later Jason how his wife was increasingly troubled by his mob connections.

Spinelli was captured by Cyrus Renault who threatened to return him to Carly in pieces. He was later accosted by Joey Novak the son of mob boss Vincent Novak and told Jason he had to tell Ellie about it. Later Spinelli said Ellie had left him and added that he could not walk away from Jason. The reason the Novaks are turning up the heat is that Sonny is presumed dead and they want to know whether Jason or Carly is in charge of the Corinthos organization.

Jason and Britt

Jabritt/Brason fans are angry because they believed Jason and Dr. Westbourne were heading towards super couple status. The couple has amazing chemistry and clearly cares for one another. Jason, however, chose to have a fake wedding with Carly in order to protect Sonny's territory.Rather than tell Britt the truth, Jason allowed her to believe that he and Carly have romantic feelings for each other.

This led to Britt and Jax sleeping together and later Carly said some really unkind things in order to keep Britt from hoping for a reconciliation with Jason. If Nina had brought Mike to Port Charles his family might have helped him to regain his memory and things might not have taken such drastic turns. Nina's silence has set a chain of events in motion and it may take quite a long time before the dust settles.

Dante and Sam

Dante is in limbo because Lulu is in a long-term care facility. The two divorced but she was trying to tell him she still loved him when she collapsed. He has every legal right to move on although some GENERAL HOSPITAL viewers think Sam is the wrong choice because they each are half-sibling to Olivia and Julian['s son Leo. Sam made the painful choice to walk away from Jason and his ties to Sonny prior to his getting amnesia but if she moves on with Dante it will be related to recent events.

Dante and Sam kissed because she got drunk after hearing the news that Carly and Jason were going to marry. Liz Weber and Sam discussed how both of them along with Robin Scorpio Drake always had to deal with Carly when they were with Jason. Liz and Sam feel like it was inevitable that Jarly should get together now that Sonny is"dead" and they hate the fact that they lost out so to speak and the woman who was so cruel to them has won. They have no idea this will be a marriage of convenience that would not be happening if Nina had simply brought Mike back to Port Charles.

Carly and Jason

Nina keeping the secret that Mike is really Sonny is disgusting to many GENERAL HOSPITAL viewers and is the sole reason that Carly and Jason became engaged. The Novaks began striking Corinthos property and Jason said they wanted him to kill Carly to prove he is in charge. The duo came up with the idea of presenting a united front in order to protect their family but it all will unravel once Sonny does return to Port Charles. Spoilers tease that he might show up just in time to stop the wedding but in the meantime, Nina is using the engagement to her advantage.

Somewhere in Ms. Reeves twisted logic, she believes that Carly and Jason getting married means that she can move on with Mike but there is a snag. Sonny is already beginning to have slight memories of his former life but has not yet put any of the pieces together. Once he realizes who he is Nina will be in big trouble and the wedding between Carly and Jason will be called off or determined invalid if it does take place.

The truth may not, however, cause Britt to accept Jason's apology because she might have wanted him to come clean in the beginning of this mess. Sonny's return may not change what might or might not happen between Dante and Sam. Spinelli and Ellie are history because he stands loyal to Jason. Carly and Sonny may find their way back to each other and Nina will be in big trouble. However it all works out there is a possibility that none of this would even be an issue if Nina Reeves had simply told Mike that he is really mob boss/coffee importer Sonny Corinthos.
