'General Hospital' fans weigh in on Gladys and her future in Port Charles

Gladys Corbin is proving to be a handful since showing up in Port Charles. Now, after being shot and her brush with death, she is in rare form on GENERAL HOSPITAL. She recently died her hair blonde she seems to believe that she should be getting more out of life. Gladys is determined to stir up more trouble but no one is ever certain what she will be up to next.

Those who watch the ABC soap have varied opinions on this interesting woman. Some say she is a troublemaking interloper and needs to be sent packing while other fans say they enjoy that Mrs. Corbinis thorn in the side of Carly. There are viewers who have expressed that they can't stand the character and others who find her amusing and say she adds comic relief.

Gladys showed up at the Metro Court pool and could not contain herself from speaking her mind. She confided in Brando that she believes Sasha does not want him in his baby's life and addressed Carly as the "Widow Corinthos." Gladys congratulated her cousin's wife on the engagement to Jason and added it was about time she and her son were treated like family.

Carly sent Brando to refill his drink and told Sonny's cousin that she is not family. Carly has been cruel to Mrs. Corbin from day one and does not want her around. While the women were talking Joey Novak showed up but Brando eased the tension between the mob boss and Carly. Gladys took full advantage of the situation and insisted that her boy Brando deserved a bigger position in the Corinthos organization.

Gladys is that person you love to hate and reminds some GENERAL HOSPITAL viewers of a nagging aunt or a nosey neighbor. She is right about one thing and that is that Sasha does not want her baby around the mob violence associated with Jason and the Corinthos clan. It's not clear what the writers are up to but there are a growing number of relationships being broken in Port Charles because of ties to Sonny.

While Gladys wants her son to become more involved in the family business Sasha does not desire him to have any ties to the mob. Sam walked away from Jason, Elly is divorcing Spinelli, and Britt has been sacrificed for the sake of the Corinthos organization. id Sasha tries to cut Brando out of their child's life it's likely that Grandma Gladys will not take it lying down. Mrs. Corbin does not think much about Ms. Gilmore and she could stir up real trouble.

Gladys could hire Scott Baldwin and convince Brando to sue for full custody. Sasha's past with pretending she was Nina's daughter, associating with Cyrus, overdosing on drugs, and the heart attack could all be used against her. There is no way that Gladys can force Carly's hand even though Mrs. Corbin helped take down Cyrus. The best she can hope for on that end is to be tolerated and perhaps see her son given more responsibility. This, however, might come at the expense of Brando's child.

The usually happy go lucky Sasha is putting her foot down regarding the safety of her unborn baby and does not seem like she is going to back down. There probably will be some type of confrontation with Gladys and Ms. Gilmore if she tries to keep Brando away from his child. Eventually, Sonny will regain his memory and probably take over his territory again. At that time he will probably put his cousin in check.

Until that time Gladys could get into all kinds of mischief like possibly getting mixed up with Vincent and Joey Novak as she did with Cyrus Renault. The one thing that is known for certain is that Bonnie Borough's character will keep GENERAL HOSPITAL fans guessing and continue to annoy Carly, Sasha, and Brando.
