What does Obrecht know about Britt?

Kelly Thiebaud’s journey as Dr. Britt Westbourne on General Hospital has been a rollercoaster ride. One issue fans desire knowledge of is her Huntington’s disease storyline. There is no cure for the illness, but Britt looks pretty healthy since she returned to the screen. Let's take a look at her journey.

“The Britch” evolves

Britt debuted in September 2012 as a sharp-tongued, conniving love interest for Patrick Drake (Jason Thompson) She was so full of herself that she was given the nickname “The Britch.”

She was later revealed as the daughter of notorious villains Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) and Cesar Faison ( Anders Hovis). Kelly's performance led to her winning a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in 2022.

One of the worst things she did was to steal the fertilized embryo of Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zampragna) and Lulu Spencer Falconeri (Alexa Havins Bruening) and have it implanted in her own body. She gave birth to a son who is now Rocco Falconeri (Finn Carr).

Over time, Britt changed and exhibited her softer side. In 2022, she went on the run with and fell in with Jason Morgan (Steve Burton). She shared with him that she carried the genetic markers for Huntington’s disease—a progressive neurodegenerative illness inherited from her father.

Britt died a hero

.She was devastated when Jason married Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) without explaining that it was a business arrangement related to the mob. In late 2022, Britt was told by a medical expert on her condition that she had reached stage three of Huntington’s, which would lead to significant cognitive impairment.

She was told she had between 18 months to 15 years before she would need full-time care. She had her first birthday party on New Year’s Eve to say goodbye, because she wanted to go away and die in private.

She also saved Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) from serial killer Heather Webber (Ally Mills) known as “The Hook.” Heather stabbed Britt with a poisoned hook, and she died in Obrecht’s arms aboard The Haunted Star on New Year's Day 2023.

What is Britt's medical status?

Britt’s return has General Hospital fans asking questions. One of them is about her medical condition. There is no cure for Huntington's, but Britt appears normal and is possibly working with Dr. Henry Dalton (Daniel Goddard). Jason saw her at the airport and spoke with Liesl, who did not indicate she knew her daughter was alive.

Over on The Bold and the Beautiful, Dr. Li Finnegan (Naomi Massuda) resurrected her son, John Finnegan (Tanner Novlin), and granddaughter, Luna Nozawa (Lisa Yamada), who both had been pronounced dead after being shot. She cared for them secretly, so perhaps Obrecht did the same for her Britta.

Jason will obtain answers

Jason saw his former lover in a Paris airport and has been trying to prove she is alive. A conversation with Liesl went nowhere, but later saw a medical report that indicated that Obrecht never signed for Britt's ashes, which suggests that mother and daughter may be working together. He will not stop until he learns the truth.

Fans want to know where Dr. O has been while away from Port Charles and whether she played a role in her daughter surviving being poisoned. How are they connected to Dalton, and who is really behind the research he is doing at PCU?

Did Britt find a miracle cure or a medication that will slow her Huntington's symptoms, or is she still destined to die? How long before Jason locates her, and when all of this is sorted out, do they have a future together?

Be watching for updates related to this storyline and continue tuning in to General Hospital as the drama unfolds.
