Attack on Titan: The Last Attack Movie to Release in Indian Theatres
Attack on Titan Returns to the Big Screen in India

Attack on Titan: The Last Attack will release in Indian theatres. A poster at licensor and distributor Medialink’s booth at the Anime India event in Mumbai confirmed the news.
The poster includes the logo of Indian distributor PVR Inox Pictures, which has handled several anime releases in the past. However, no details have been shared yet about the release date, dubs, or formats.
The film is a 145-minute compilation that merges both parts of Attack on Titan Final Season: The Final Chapters. For the theatrical version, the TV anime scenes have been updated with improved lighting, upgraded visuals, and 5.1 surround sound.
There’s also a post-credits scene featuring the main characters in a new setting. It’s already been widely covered following the movie’s release in Japan on November 8 last year, so we won’t spoil it here.
The film is directed by Yuichiro Hayashi, who said the following about the best way to watch the final parts of the show:
“I originally drew the storyboards [for The Final Chapters] with the idea that it would be watched as a single movie. So, having the opportunity to have everyone watch it in the best possible environment, the theatre, is a dream come true for me.”
International releases for the film began in January 2025 across the Philippines, Qatar, and Hong Kong, rolling out to most regions by March. India is getting the film much later by comparison.

For Indian anime fans, the announcement marks a significant milestone. While anime has steadily grown in popularity in India through streaming platforms like Crunchyroll and Netflix, theatrical releases remain rare and highly anticipated. Attack on Titan: The Last Attack represents not just another screening but the culmination of one of the most influential anime series of the modern era, giving fans a chance to experience it on the big screen.
The involvement of PVR Inox Pictures is also an important factor. The distributor has been steadily building a reputation for bringing high-profile anime films to Indian theatres, such as Demon Slayer: Mugen Train and Jujutsu Kaisen 0. With Attack on Titan now joining this roster, it highlights how anime films are no longer niche but are steadily carving out a permanent place in Indian cinema culture.

Another point of excitement is the enhanced visual and audio quality of this release. Many fans who followed the anime through television broadcasts or streaming will be able to re-experience the story with richer detail, improved sound design, and atmospheric immersion. This theatrical experience, as director Yuichiro Hayashi mentioned, fulfills the original vision of presenting the finale as one cohesive cinematic journey rather than split TV episodes.
Globally, Attack on Titan’s conclusion has been met with immense emotional reactions. The series, known for its dark themes, moral complexity, and shocking twists, left fans debating the ending long after its broadcast. With the film’s arrival in India, viewers here will now join the international conversation, sharing in the collective farewell to one of anime’s most talked-about sagas.
Anime conventions and fan clubs in India are already buzzing with anticipation. Events like Anime India have shown just how passionate and organized the Indian fan base has become. Screenings of major anime films often transform into community gatherings, with fans cosplaying, discussing theories, and celebrating the medium together. Attack on Titan: The Last Attack is expected to be no different, drawing crowds of longtime followers and newcomers alike.
The late arrival of the film in India compared to other markets might feel frustrating for some fans, but it also builds anticipation. By the time it hits Indian theatres, word-of-mouth reviews and international coverage will have already created a wave of excitement, ensuring packed halls during its opening week.
In many ways, this release is more than just about the anime itself. It reflects the evolving landscape of Indian pop culture, where anime is no longer confined to a small segment of enthusiasts but is becoming mainstream entertainment. Attack on Titan: The Last Attack may well serve as a benchmark for future anime theatrical releases in the country.
