The Black Kaleidoscope
Don't Look

Introduction
The Black Kaleidoscope
It was just a kid's toy, that's all, it was a bit of fun. But someone had done something to this one.
Whoever peered into it saw a darkness and the darkness saw them.
From that moment on they never smiled or laughed again, the kaleidoscope stole their souls.
They did not care for others and would never help anyone but themselves and that only if they had to.
The kaleidoscope was always dropped, and when it was found it drank another soul and each one made the world a darker place.
That was until a witch found it.
She felt the darkness in it and took it back to her home.
There was a demon there, trapped by a dark wizard who had left this plane centuries ago, and she knew the demon was a soul stealer.
She called her sisters to create a spell to free the demon, then chain it, and make it release the souls it had eaten. It would be angry and powerful, but the witches had the power to do this, and they would extract the name of the dark wizard who had trapped the demon, he would then be hunted.
Over centuries men have painted witches as evil and burned them alive because they were women who threatened the patriarchy.
Witches are the ones who keep the world safe from evil. They are the ones who are always there to help others.
The sisters gathered and cast their spells and the demon came out screaming into a net of silver spider webs. The demon was restrained.
The witches told the demon it must reveal the one who trapped it, which it willingly did. It was more reticent about the souls, but when the witches promised to return it to its homeworld it gave up the eaten souls.
The souls returned to their bodies and suddenly the world became much happier.
The sun and moon shone brighter.
The black kaleidoscope was crumbled into dust.
The witches now had a name to hunt for.........

Oooo, I wonder who trapped him in there. Would you be continuing this story?
Interesting..like the kaleidoscope is a black hole!
What an interesting view on a childs toy, and to make witches the saviour. Nice touch
This was deeply enthralling. Between the Kaleidoscope stealing their soul and the nod towards the state of our hearts -inclined to selfishness, it appears that you’ve stolen some power from the witches and held my attention all the way through.
There must be a witches three to combat any demon(s). Good work.
