Ice in the Desert
There weren’t always dragons in the Valley. The Valley had once been an unofficial part of the Imperial Highway, where thousands of people would travel monthly to get to their destination. Carved out of the glittering summer stone that made up the expansive landscape, it was as beautiful as it was daunting. With its impossibly high cavernous walls and ever expansive tunnels and pathways, it was said to be the perfect protection between hungry beast and ruthless bandit. Perhaps that is why the dragons favoured it so.

Norwalk the Wizard
There weren't always dragons in the Valley. Now there was a new one every day, looking lost, confused, and turning an odd black color. The old wizard squinted his eyes and stared into the distant forest, some of it black now, instead of the beautiful green it used to be before his spell went wrong. He blinked and nodded at a dragon passing by when a strange sound could be heard in the bushes behind him. Curious, he turned to see a pair of deep, green eyes looking at him, darting behind the bush to hide when he looked over at the creature.

Lost and Found
Jade sat at the edge of the rocks watching the waves crash into each other. She always loved sitting here watching the sun rise. The way the sky would change into those magnificent colors of orange, purples and blues. Birds would always call to one another in the sky around her.

The Guardians of Time
"There weren’t always dragons in the valley," I began. Three tiny faces stared at me. Eyes widened, jaws dropped, and heads tilted. These children weren’t even born yet when the dragons arrived. They didn't know life without them. They didn't know what it was like to see flowers bursting with reds, oranges, and pinks. To taste fruit freshly picked from the vine. To walk through the valley and run their fingers over the top of waving grass as a cool breeze washed over them. All they knew was char and fire, the dark gray that covered the smoldering valley floor, and the holes carved into the sides of the mountains to make the dragons’ caves.

Coming Clean
Dear Momma, There has been a secret that I have been keeping from you. Something that has been weighing on me for some time. About 2 years ago I was sucked through a portal. That portal led to a world filled with magic, dragons, elves, and many other kinds of creatures and people. This world had humans like ours but their technology was hundreds of years behind ours. However, with the help of their magic, they can accomplish the same things we can. While there, I met many different kinds of people. Such as people that were half human and half animal (beast people), elves, dragons, dwarfs, and even fairies, small creatures who guarded the Great Forest.

The Beginning
Darcy October 2nd, the Monday when Darcy came to school with a whole new pack of mints and an assumption that Autumn, her frivolous friend, had gotten into another fandom. It was going to be a pretty normal day, which by that. . . she knew it was going to be boring.
