Destiny Fails
He was leaning over the freezer cabinet, fondling what looked, from her safe vantage point, like a pack of frozen peas. He had no arse – just a sagging denim flap, like a diseased internal organ, stained with, Sally hoped, mud; his hair was matted and shiny with grease, like a teenager’s, although he was the same age he always was when they first met – late twenties. She couldn’t actually see from her position behind the gondola end, but she knew the shoulders of his denim jacket – yes he was wearing double denim – would be littered with dandruff.

The Long Passage
The quay in Dublin was always wet. It didn't matter if it was raining or sunny; there was always moisture coating the surface. Stone blocks were darkened permanently by salt and water, the original colour long forgotten. Ropes were wound around iron posts, stiff and strained from the beating they received from the salt water and wind. The smell of fish permeated the air, overwhelming all other senses.

Behind the Wheel. AI-Generated.
The car was more than metal and leather; it was a moving space where two very different lives quietly met every day. For Rashid, the driver, it was his workplace, his shelter from the sun, and sometimes his only place of peace. For Mr. Kamran, the owner, it was a symbol of success, a vehicle that carried him between meetings, decisions, and a life that never seemed to slow down.

Pancakes Made with Love
Last year when I woke up to the smell of pancakes it was great. Now it isn’t as good as it used to be. I got out of bed this morning to find a stack of them on the table. A small pat of soy butter on top of them. Pumpkin jelly is in between the pancakes that were made. And a huge amount of my favorite syrup poured on top. Along with some scrambled vegan eggs with cheese melted throughout.

Thoughts on Plot and Structure
If you say that plots are limited, that there are only so many ways a story can go, can move its way into the reader's mind, walk around and influence things while it's there, can end…if you are one who says that, my humble assessment is you may have erred, miscalculated, misspoken.

My Name Is Unimportant
My name is Unimportant, I know it's a weird name, but it's how my parents registered me. When they were asked by the registrar, "what is their name?", they said, "their name is unimportant". The registrar took that to mean that that was my actual name. My parents didn't say anything else about it, hence my name.
