Captain's Manual, Page 247, Emergency Procedures
World Tech would like to remind the crew of the SS-73 that we depend on your success. The stars. The sun. The moon. All planets and every ounce of life on the planets. Everything within our galaxy depends on your success.
Several situations constitute an emergency.
The cargo you are transporting to The Far Side is incredibly dangerous. Despite looking sweet, the creature you are taking away is pure instinct and it can devour whole stars with only a look.
It is imperative that the cargo be contained at all times.
Should the ship sustain significant damage or the software controlling the ship be compromised in any way, the cargo hold will automatically seal shut. The airlocks will immediately siphon all oxygen from the hold, while the centripetal intensifier generators will increase the gravitational pressure in the hold by 10,000%
Disclaimer: Crew members will not survive airlock sealing in the cargo hold. If they do not die by hypoxia, they will be crushed by gravity. Understand that this is not enough to destroy the cargo. The cargo will survive. Do not attempt to rescue any crew member within the cargo hold.
The cargo hold will remain in lockdown for the rest of the journey should this happen.
The most likely emergency: The Lullaby Shut Off.
Occasionally, a random solar flare or coronal mass ejection may interfere with the ship's power. The backup generators will immediately take over; however, they are only wired to the most necessary parts of the ship. This means the Lullaby will shut off in the cargo hold.
Understand that the Lullaby is the only thing that keeps your crew safe from the cargo.
Your first priority should be re-establishing power to the Lullaby quickly. The average time before the Cargo hold begins to respond to the silence is 13 minutes.
You will have 13 minutes to re-establish the Lullaby before the Cargo becomes active.
The crew has already signed a waiver stating that they understand that the cargo hold is only able to hold the cargo because of the Lullaby.
Protect the Lullaby at ALL COSTS.
In the unlikely event of cargo escape:
Should the cargo escape the hold, the Crew will have no other option than to initialize the self-destruct function of the ship. The override code for self-destruct is: 3-3-7-5-9-1
This journey will take you 15.6 years to deliver the Cargo to the Far Side. And this is a journey in which you will not return.
You will be remembered with honor and reverence for your sacrifice to save our universe.
Godspeed, SS-73. And good luck.

So good. I would read more of this story. But it is also well contained in these instructions.
