The Mist of the Cursed
They say the ghosts you see are those who have unfinished business upon these lands. That they died without truly getting everything out of life that they desired. The rain fell upon the water heavily, creating a rhythmic pattern that sounded like one you would waltz to.

Rapture.
She stands alone. It was here, or at least somewhere along here, along this unforgiving coast, along this darkened beach. Or so they told her. Twenty-one years ago, they say, she was washed from the womb, massaged by the rough hands of the waves, pushed from one dark ocean into another. A miracle baby, a mermaid, a siren. It was here her mother fed her, her life. Not from the breast but from the cord. It was not warm, rich milk that nourished her but blood and desperation that pumped into her veins. It was not warm kind hands that held her high but cold wet fingers of sea that rolled her to their tips, that forced her first breath as her mother breathed her last. It was along this coast, on this beach that she survived. A miracle baby, a mermaid, a siren.

Summoned Illusions
Her name was Heather, like the beautiful heather scattered endlessly across the mysterious and haunted moors. The moors of Dartmoor called to Heather, both in her waking hours and her nightly dreams. They beckoned her like a beacon, summoning her to their luscious hills as she slept each night in the comfort of a bed that had once belonged to her parents. Each morning when she awoke, the smell of heather permeated her bedroom, and she knew well enough it was the remnants of her dreams lingering in the air.

Tide the Time Away With Me
There lay a legion of bare skeletons, skulls, and bones on the shore. The obsidian sand sparkled under the moonlight, a beacon was shining into the coastline. Fog spread out randomly on the beach. Boats passed this island sporadically as it had been abandoned for what seemed to be an eon. Some legends would state that this archipelago was once flourishing, over time most of the isles had eroded. The villagers that once were had also vanished, evaporated. Tales of ole would mention briefly of merfolk, unimaginable creatures that lived under the sea. Lightning struck in the sky this night.

Green Globs
I hurriedly finished my bowl of green goo. It was a little watery but still thick, sour, and I was able to eat most of it with my large soup soon and slurp the rest out of the bowl like cereal. I got up off the floor and took a piss in the corner of my cell.
