Crossroads
Chapter One Nobody can hear a scream in the vacuum of space, or so they say. But in the bowels of Crossroads Station – literally the bowels, as I was in pursuit through the byzantine waste reclamation facilities that surrounded the lower decks – screams echoed off of every pipe, nook and cranny in a fashion that was pretty damn disturbing.

The Runaway Train
First edit edition I just can't begin to imagine how my New Year's was going to be normal, festive, and jovial, after my wife of twenty years, died in my arms, from a massive brain aneurysm. This was our date night-how could she do this to me? No, it was sudden. She knew that smoking a pack of cigarettes a day would eventually kill her. She laughed about it sometimes. But, she couldn't quit. She didn't want to quit. Even until her last breath, when she began coughing uncontrollably, and was trying to fight it off like so many times before, she was looking at me, gasping for air and asking in between each break of a cough: "ugh... baay-by"? "ugh, ugh," where are my cigarettes? "Mmmm," was the sound of her clearing her throat. She thought that lighting up a fresh smoke was the reason the coughing would stop. But, we both knew that was wrong. She had admitted it to me. And, I was in something of denial-this was my wife, my partner in crime.

Lost
New friend "Wake up Shery! Wake up!" Said a loud annoying voice above me as I lay in my comfy, warm bed. My brother Alvin (or Mouse as I call him) was standing above me shaking me hard, trying successfully, to wake me. I heard my dog Trev barking loudly from outside, I sat up with a start and my brother fell with a loud thud to the floor. I looked out my window and saw my big German Shepherd, rolling in the bright green grass under the warm sun that lay already halfway across the sky. I looked over and saw Mouse, who was eight, looking at me with anticipation. He is very small and slim with short golden, messy hair. He has icy blue eyes and a smile that went from ear to ear. He was wearing some jeans with a baggy, very stained white shirt. "Go, I'll be there in a minute" I said with a laugh and a slight look for him to leave, "And close the door" I yelled as he left.

The Lost Ark by Zachary A. Pieper
Event Log: 1 Nobody can hear a scream in the vacuum of space, or so they say. Raphael knew he didn’t want to find out. Yet, he always felt this compulsion when he looked out the viewing window on the observation deck. The compulsion to go find out exactly that. Even though it would basically require someone’s death, and he tried to rationalize it away, tried to smother the morbid little curiosity inside him. He never could. He lifted his cocktail to his lips as he contemplated whether or not the mania was getting to him. He thought maybe a trip to the Doc might be wise. But he didn’t want to be put on meds. Or worse, on ice.

Technopenuriaphobia
"I refuse to believe that the mining of H.O.P.E is a mistake! It is man's destiny to be an explorer, and transluminum has offered humanity a massive leap in the endless territories of technological progress! Any attempt to put a stop to this work is an insult to science, to freedom, to miracles and to the future itself, and I will not stand for it! I will do whatever it takes to send humanity to the next level of its evolution!" - excerpt from Tony Musk's speech at the Emergency Space Committee, year 2223
