In the garage next to the flat I am renting is a rectangular block of concrete, four feet by two feet by two feet, that is sixteen cubic feet of concrete. It is too heavy to move, but I wonder why it is there.
Sometimes you hear of transgressors who end up encased in concrete after falling foul of some criminal boss.
I tried pushing it but couldn't make it move. I asked the person I was renting the flat off and he said it was there when he bought the place, and he hadn't been able to move it. He thought that it was there to block a hole in the ground and recommended I didn't mess with it.
To me that implied he knew something more, but he wasn't telling, and that made me want to find out what it was really there for.
There were no marks on it bar a depressing on the top of it, that looked like it had held a pole or something.
I managed to rig up a contraption with a car jack and crowbar and managed to move it a couple of inches revealing a dark gap from which flew some mosquito-like insects. Three of them latched onto my arm and bit me.
I couldn't move.
More insects were coming out, some crawling and many biting me and drinking my blood. I can feel my flesh being eaten.
I know now what the block was for.
I have unleashed a plague from a Pandora's Box.
I do not think I am long for this world.
I hope someone can put the block back, but these vicious creatures are now abroad in the world and my curiosity caused it.

Oh god, a Pandora box that came with terrifying results.
Like Pandora, we're sometimes better off not knowing what lies within. A good one, Mike.
