On A Shelf

There have always been rumours and tales about a book hidden in plain sight on a shelf, or in a bookcase, or maybe in a library. The book supposedly contained details of everything that everyone does in the world and was created by a god, a Deus Irae, to decide the fate of every person on the Earth they created.

Deus Irae created the book and put a condition on it, that if it was ever opened by a human, everything would stop, time,life, humanity, it would be the end of all.

Then Deus Irae lost the book, and they became very angry. Though Deus Irae spread the word that they were omnipotent and omniscient they were not.

They knew the book was on Earth, probably in some vast library, in the Vatican or Area 51, but the fact that things were continuing, meant the book had not been found.

This made the god even angrier so they unleashed disasters on the world in the form of floods, earthquakes and plagues because they did not know who was bad or good so they assumed everyone should be punished.

Deus Irae could have chosen a human to go on a quest to find the book, but they were not very intelligent, they just had a lot of power with the ability to create and destroy.

So Dies Irae sits and waits for someone to find and open the book, and end everything, blaming humans for hiding the book, when they didn't keep it safe themselves.

They had effectively planted a bomb and could do nothing but wait until the end. Maybe Dies Irae may survive and then could start again, or maybe they would be destroyed with everything and everyone else.

So this small-minded god sat waiting, getting angrier and angrier unleashing attacks on the world they created, because they could not think of a way to find the book.

With the state of things Dies Irae may destroy the world before the book is found, at least they would still be here to start again. They unleashed another plague ......
