Why My Air Fryer One of the Greatest Investments I Ever Made

The joy of home cooking

Why I Love My Air Fryer

One item that’s been getting a lot of use in my apartment lately is my Ninja Air Fryer, which was bought from Amazon. I’ll be honest at first, I didn’t believe it and it sounded too good to be true. However, I’m happy with it because it’s really given me a boost of confidence in making healthier meals. So, I decided to share on Vocal why I love my Air Fryer and share some of my favourite things to cook on it, as well as recommended recipes.

It’s Convenient

As I live on my own, I am responsible for all my bills, cleaning, and cooking. Everybody was talking about the air fryers and how good they are because they’re easy to use and you don’t need oil to fry stuff in it. I got one as an early birthday present, and I have been using it almost every single day. I’ve got on well with it, even better than my main cooker. I don’t think it will replace every element in the kitchen: I have found it doesn’t cook raw rice very well. However, it works wonders with chips, fries and frozen foods. I’ve even had success making my own pizzas and bread from scratch, which in my opinion were tastier and cheaper than takeaway pizzas.

It’s Quick

Most things take less than 20 minutes to cook. Sometimes it takes quicker to cook then the recipes claim so it is important to check. I have nearly burned several chips because of this. Many times in a normal oven, a lot of my cooking attempts have ended in disaster because my food was undercooked or charcoal pie. I've set off the fire alarm a few times.

Makes Great Stuff With Little Ingredients

Last night I made some sweet bread using only flour, honey, soda and green tea latte powder. One of my favourites was making a vegan pizza using hummus instead of eggs and tofu instead of cheese. That was a great success, although I do think I went overboard with the garlic. A lot of commercially prepared food has dozens of chemicals and stuff in it to give it a longer shelf-life. Fresh foods may not last as long, but they're more nourishing and healthier.

It’s Easy To Use

The air fryer has an array of buttons and modes for frying, baking and dehydrating foods which you can use to turn grapes into raisins for example. I also like the fact it has a defrost option.

It’s Healthier Than Deep-Frying

Because it is using hot air to cook instead of oils, it can be healthy in the long-run. One of my aunts used this at home and she ended up losing a lot of weight because of it. My mum is proud of her air fryer as well.

It's Fun

It's a nice feeling to see stuff you create turn into a big success. My air fryer has been reliable throughout and has given me a lot of big cooking triumphs. I should have taken some pictures of the stuff I cooked in it, but I rarely take pictures of food, but the pizza and bread I made looked worthy of an Instagram photo.

It's Made Me Love Cooking Again

I can put my hands up and say I am a better writer than I am a better cook. But this is making me feel a lot more confident in making my own meals now. I can also appreciate how it's given me peace of mind. I've always been somebody who experiments, but now I feel like the experiments with food and trying new recipes have finally become worth the effort.

Recipes To Try

It can be done with an air fryer. As somebody who loves seafood, this is something I would love to try. If they had this on a menu, I would order it.

Vegan meals already prepared in the supermarket is expensive compared to the dairy and meat counterparts, but making your own dosen't have to beat the bank.

You can't go wrong with this one. Very inspiring piece. Last but not least, I will leave a link to the pizza one.
