McDonald's is easily the most recognizable and popular fast food worldwide. With over 38,000 locations, it's pretty safe to say that almost everyone on the planet has at least heard of or eaten at a McDonald's. But did you know that each country has their own unique menu items?

While you might just be accustomed to American offerings like the Big Mac and Chicken McNuggets, international locations have a lot more to offer and are pretty true to the regions in which they exist. So, let's go around the world and see what McDonald's menu items exist!

15. Chicken Big Mac

Where do I find it? United Kingdom and Ireland

While the Chicken Big Mac was previously available exclusively in Australia, the item launched in the United Kingdom and Ireland in early 2022. Similar to an American Big Mac, the sandwich comes with cheese, lettuce, pickles, Big Mac Sauce, and two fried chicken patties on a sesame seed bun.

Where do I find it? Saudi Arabia

McDonald's in Middle Eastern countries is quite a bit different as they tend to stay true to Halal rules and feature items that are native to the region. With the McArabia Chicken, you receive two Halal grilled chicken patties complete with lettuce, tomato, onion, and garlic sauce on a toasted flatbread (similar to a pita).

Where do I find it? Philippines

This is a classic Filipino choice at McDonald's that features two popular items in the Philippines - chicken and spaghetti. If you order the Chicken McDo with McSpaghetti, you'll receive a piece of crispy fried chicken complete with a side of spaghetti w/ tomato meat sauce.

Where do I find it? Brazil

From the looks of the Cheddar McMelt, Brazilian McDonald's locations have a true winner. The sandwich comes with a beef patty topped with melted cheddar cheese and grilled onions in soy sauce. It also comes on a dark, toasted sesame seed bun.

Where do I find it? Hawaii

Typical American breakfast platters at McDonald's come with a hash brown, eggs, a biscuit, and sausage. However, McDonald's in Hawaii offer a more local plater complete with a Hawaiian staple - SPAM. This Local Deluxe Breakfast Platter includes white rice, grilled spam, Portuguese sausage, and scrambled eggs.

10. McSpicy Paneer

The standard burger is no match for this offering at McDonald's India locations. The popular McSpicy Paneer is a crispy paneer patty topped with lettuce and creamy tandoori sauce. The patty is made with paneer, a popular cheese in Indian cooking.

Indian locations also feature a Dosa Masala Burger - a fermented rice and lentil pancake with a spicy potato filling. For this version, McDonald's went with a turmeric-spiced potato patty stuffed with chutney on a bun.

9. Corn Pie

Where do I find it? Thailand

It's corn! This Thai McDonald's dessert comes in the signature apple pie shell, but it stuffed with a sweet, creamy corn filling. Originally launching in South Korea, the Corn Pie has become a popular offering in Thailand.

McDonald's Thailand also features a Samurai McPork sandwich - complete with teriyaki sauce, mayo and lettuce served on a sesame seed bun.

8. Ebi Burger

Where do I find it? Hong Kong

While most American fans knock down the Filet-O-Fish sandwich, Asian McDonald's menus feature bombshell seafood burgers. In fact, the seafood options are some of the most popular in these locations. Hong Kong is no exception with their Ebi Burgers - juicy, fried shrimp patties. These patties can come with just lettuce and sauce, or with a piece of pineapple.

McDonald's Hong Kong also features a Matcha Red Bean Layer Cake complete with matcha cream and layered with matcha pancakes and red beans.

7. Bulgogi Burger

Where do I find it? South Korea

This unique pork burger can be found on McDonald's menus in South Korea. The pork patty comes slathered in sweet bulgogi sauce with lettuce and mayo. It's also customizable and can include an egg or be served as a double burger.

6. Mango McFlurry

Where do I find it? Malaysia

Similar to other Asian countries, Malaysian McDonald's locations don't shy away from a solid dessert. That's right, the only place you can get a Mango McFlurry (complete with Oreo bits) is at a location in Malaysia.

Malaysian locations also feature an exclusive Thai Green Curry Chicken Burger. This sandwich comes with a fried chicken patty, green curry sauce, and a veggie slaw. It's also shaped more like a rival sandwich - the Burger King Original Chicken Sandwich.

5. McVegan

Where do I find it? Finland and Sweden

Launching plant-based items into the stratosphere, McDonald's locations in Finland and Sweden began offering the McVegan in 2017. The soy protein patty comes on a sesame seed bun with vegan mayo, tomato, lettuce, pickles, onion, ketchup and mustard. It served as a launching point for the McPlant which is now featured in other countries, complete with vegan cheese and a Beyond Meat patty.

4. Red Bean, Sweet Taro, or Pineapple Pie

Where do I find it? China

Asian McDonald's locations have a variety of dessert items that are unavailable in other countries and China is no exception with their selection of specialty pies. While you can get apple pies in the United States, you can get red bean, sweet taro, or pineapple pies in China.

2. Big Brekkie Burger

Where do I find it? Australia

Australia really said "get your day started right" with the Big Brekkie Burger. This Australian McDonald's offering features a beef patty, hash brown, bacon, melted cheese, an egg, and barbecue sauce. It's too bad this is only available until 10:30am because it sure looks like it would hit the spot no matter what time it is.

McDonald's is always hailed as having the best fries in the fast food industry, and in Canadian locations they've amped up their game by adding the classic fixin's for poutine. This menu item finds those delicious spuds in a carboard container topped with gravy and cheese curds. If you've never had poutine before, going to McDonald's Canada might be a good place to start.
