Tuna and pineapple wrap
Easy cooking for busy people

Last summer, or was it two summers ago? Never mind. It was a summer when I decided I wanted to try and make up my own easy cooking recipes. I don’t have much time for cooking and I have even less patience for spending a few hours cooking something that will disappear from my plate in ten minutes or less.
I don’t have to cook for anyone, which is just one of my favourite things in the world, not cooking for anyone, that is. So, it’s just me. That’s already enough trouble.
You see, I am somehow picky, too, because whatever I eat has to be healthy, delicious, as simple as possible, with as few ingredients and preparation steps as possible, ready in just a few minutes, and using as few pots, pans, and dishes as possible.
I know what you are thinking. Something in the lines of ‘mission impossible.’ Well, let me tell you that I have perfected my ‘not cooking’ to a degree that even Meghan Markle would be jealous and steal my recipes and ideas in no time.
But, back to my kitchen, which is not the neighbour’s. Today, I will share with you my special and super delicious easy to make tuna and pineapple wrap. It’s ready in 12 minutes —or less if you are faster than me— and you can make enough for two days and keep them in the fridge.
You can have them for breakfast, or lunch, or snacks, or dinner. For breakfast or a snack I only have a wrap with a cup of tea. If it’s for lunch or dinner I usually add some pineapple or a tomato, lettuce, and cucumber salad as a side dish. Of course, with a cup of tea. Or, coffee, or favourite drink.
These are all the ingredients you will need for four wraps:
- 4 medium size tortillas of your choice
- 1 tin (that’s 1 can, if you are in the U.S.) of tuna of your choice
- 1 tin of pineapple (two, if they are small)
That’s all. I don’t use any butter or oil in the pan, but you can, if you want.
Preparation:
Put the tuna in a small bowl and mix it with some of the pineapple. You can add some light mayonnaise if you want. I don’t add anything to make it as simple as possible. I usually buy tuna that is already mixed with something.
Add some of the mix in the centre of each tortilla making sure you will be able to close the wrap.

When your wraps are ready, you only need to put them in a pan for a few minutes to get the tuna and pineapple warmed up, the tortillas slightly toasted, and the wrap sealed. That’s about two or three minutes on each side. Sometimes I put the wraps in the electric oven instead of in the pan.
Either way, in the pan or in the electric over, they will be delicious. So, when there are ready —and that’s only a few minutes— place your golden wraps on a plate and add your choice of side dish or enjoy them on their own.

You can elevate this simple version of tuna wrap by adding some extra ingredients such as tomato slices, grated cheese, and spinach. You can also mix the tuna with sweet corn to add some crunch to the wrap. For a Mexican version, add a few slices of jalapeno or chipotle chile.
This is a healthy, simple, easy, and delicious option for a light meal that will take you only a few minutes to prepare.

I really like this one! I think I will try it 😀
I've never even thought about Tuna and Pineapple! But I can almost taste it. What a great combination Susan. Have you ever tried Peanut Butter and Tomato sandwiches. They are amazingly refreshing, especially when cold!
Aha! I have all of the ingredients. All of my kids are grown and living on their own except for my son. He is super picky, but it's related to his autism. He loves pineapple, so I am curious to see if he might be willing to give this a try. As for tuna, nope, he's not a fan, but I will pitch your recipe idea. Either way, I will make it because I love tuna.
Looks delicious. Pineapple will balance fishiness of tuna, I guess.
Interesting combo. I never thought of mixing pineapple with tuna fish
