Dawon's Restaurant Review
In the mountainside town of Estes Park, there are many restaurants and variety of shops that sit in the downtown area. The one restaurant that really caught my eye was the Wild Rose Restaurant that was across street from the other restaurant inside the Old Church shopping center. I decided to cross the street and go check out the Wild Rose for myself for an evening meal. While making my way towards the Wild Rose, I noticed the amazing decor along the walkway painted in pink with the vines along the lower part of the wall to represent both its distinctive European and American themes to represent the kind of food and variety of drinks they serve there.

A Promise of the Sweetest Tomorrow
I remember reading a passage in a book titled In Search of Lost Times where the author, Marcel Proust, describes a scene where he eats a little madeleine cake and is immediately thrown into an involuntary memory. In his memory, he is eating madeleines with his aunt on a Sunday as a young boy. He argues that taste and smell are heavily connected to memory and from my own lovely experiences, I can agree. For me, a simple blueberry pastry is tied to a crowd of my own complex emotions and beautiful memories. That pastry is my petite madeleine. There are three memories that I'm abruptly thrown into now whenever I take a bite of a warm blueberry pastry on a cold day.

Location: Gitano Garden of Love - 76 Varick Street, entrance on Grand St, New York 10013 As the sun started to set along the Manhattan horizon on a Mid-September evening, a cool breeze began to kick in indicating that Summer was coming to a near end. I parked my car directly across the street from the restaurant I had plans to dine in and filled the meter for an hour. Being blessed to snag the parking spot that I did on a Tuesday evening in SoHo Manhattan was like finding a unicorn; unheard of. As I made my way to the front entrance of Gitano Garden of Love, the pop-up restaurant along Varick Street, I stood in line with my mask on awaiting to get my temperature checked (Thanks, COVID) and to be escorted to table 205 to meet my friend who was already waiting for me.
