Therapies of Baking
Baking has always been somewhat therapeutic for me. Something about punching a perfectly risen bread dough or putting all your stress into whipping perfectly fluffy egg whites. Not to mention the prices at spas! My hair would be grey before I turned 25! Baking has been the cheaper and more economically friendly option. And not to mention, everyone somehow benefits from baking.

Meat Loaf... No Hamburger
I know when you hear meat loaf you think of a huge lump of hamburger mixed with stuff and formed into a loaf, baked and served up with probably mashed potatoes and a veggie. Well, I call this meat loaf because it is a loaf covered and stuffed with meat.

Holiday Cookies from the "Old World"
The winter holiday season is upon us. It is a blessed and wonderful time; an extended opportunity for us to cherish the important things: family, friends, community, rampant commercialism, numerous visits to your favorite cyber store, and of course, baking cookies.

Lemon Curd and Raspberry Jam Stuffed Shredded Wheat Bakes
These lemon curd and raspberry jam-stuffed shredded wheat bakes (I know, it’s a mouthful) were made one day while I was messing around in the kitchen. My thought was a cornflake cake mixed with a stuffed muffin, but all I had at hand was shredded wheat!

Chicken Fajita Lettuce Wraps. Top Story - December 2017.
Fajitas are a favourite of mine and many other people too and these chicken fajita lettuce wraps are a low carb version of this much-loved meal. Me personally, I love myself some carbs, so in this recipe I added some brown rice to each lettuce wrap but to keep it super low carb, if that’s what you're aiming for, then just leave it out.

Simple Soul Food
If you didn't already make the assumption by reading the title, I am from the south. To be more specific, I'm from Nashville, Tennessee. I am one of those rare "born and raised" Nashvillians that are hard to come by these days. If you are familiar with Nashville then you know what I mean...if you are not familiar with Nashville, well then that's another topic for another day. My city is known as music city but what it really is is so much more. It's southern culture, southern charm and southern grace. We talk slow, dance fast and we love to eat! Hot chicken, whiskey and cornbread are easy to come by here and if you are ever so lucky enough to chat with a local, then you are in for a treat. They will give you all the best kept secret southern restaurant recommendations. If the restaurant looks run down and the floors are covered in grease, be prepared for a mind-blowing feast. And whatever you do, do not pass up on the blackberry cobbler and be sure to have it topped with ice cream..and no you don't have to share!

Fight the Freeze with Flavor!
As our days get shorter and our sleeves get longer, the inevitable chill that slowly pales the amber California summer creeps in. While we can’t control the temperature outside, we can decide to use this shivering season to our advantage. Fight the frigid with flavor...like that from halibut—light and fresh, and deliciously simple. Its charred, sweet, and citrus hints are the perfect compliments to the bold and smoky Rojo Legume Soup that will raise your spirits as well as your temperature.

Afternoon Tea
How civilised it must have been when Afternoon Tea was a delightful little ritual to participate in, at three or four, in the English home. Nowadays it's a treat and this menu is slightly more elaborate or substantial than just a slice of seed cake or buttered muffin with tea! However, when you only make the effort once in a blue moon, there is certainly excuse to lavish several of the variants in a single sitting! It is a nice get together to organise between friends and family, maybe sharing out the different elements of the 'tea' so the workload isn't put upon one individual making the whole experience relaxing for all. Here is a menu for inspiration and a few recipes and tips to help you on your way to the perfect Afternoon Tea!

The World of Cheese
Health Benefits Helps prevent cavities:Cheese has very high amounts of calcium. Calcium is a key factor for having strong teeth. Cheese also has low amounts of lactose, believe it or not. Lactose can actually be harmful to teeth. Fun Fact: older cheese has less lactose in it then younger cheese. Cheese prevents cancer: Cheese has Conjugated Linoleic Acid and Sphingolipids in it, which is helpful in preventing cancer. Cheese also has Vitamin B which helps body function and helps fight disease. Strong Bones: Cheese contains Vitamin B and a lot of calcium which is good for bone structure. Eating cheese while pregnant or breastfeeding is good for the baby as it makes their little bones strong. Also, consuming Calcium and Vitamin B is recommended for elderly people because they tend to have brittle bones. Prevents Hypertension: Now, for you that don’t know what hypertension is, it's when you have high blood pressure. If you are hypertensive, sodium and cholesterol are bad and you must be careful choosing the cheese you eat. Cheese with high-fat levels are more popular since they are more delicious, but due to health concerns low-fat cheese is starting to be introduced.

Yuletide Recipes
Yule is traditionally a three day celebration over the Winter Solstice where friends and family come together to celebrate community and the return of the sun god. During this time people feast, swap presents, dance, drink, and party until the holiday is over. This Pagan and Wicca holiday traces back to Roman time when the people would strip themselves of their clothing and have a three day party in the street; although, these days we prefer to keep our clothing on.
