How Cookies Saved Christmas
Growing up, I used to love Christmas. It was, hands down, the best time of the year (as all the songs can attest to). My dad was in the Air Force so we were constantly moving around, but Christmas meant flying or driving to Texas to spend the season with my mom's extended family. Presents, a ton of food, and my granddad.

Harry Potter and the Butterbeer Cookies . Second Place in Cookie Swap Challenge.
Imagine this: you’re cuddled up with a warm, fluffy blanket, snuggled up against your significant other, best friend, pet, or even just by yourself with a steaming, frothy cup of hot cocoa. The Harry Potter theme score starts drifting from your television; marathoning the iconic movies is a tradition you have had since you were a young adult. Nothing screams “it’s the holidays” quite like Hogwarts, quidditch, and your favorite gang of wizards. The one thing that would absolutely complete this yearly movie run would be a warm, gooey butterbeer cookie.

Sugary Goodness
Christmas is a joyous time of year! In my family, we don't shy away from big celebrations, and Christmas is no exception. It's one of the many exceptional qualities of my family. One reason that holidays are so special is spending precious time with loved ones and connecting over delicious food. CO-VID 19 has changed so much of the way we interact with one another, and while holidays may look a little different this year, there are still food traditions to be followed. One of our long-standing family traditions is making Christmas cookies and candy to share with other people. When I was younger, our rule was that we made Christmas cookies and candy to give my school teachers, and my parents would take some to work to share with their co-workers and bosses. Over time, the tradition has changed into blessing others that we hold close to us with delicious treats. Our practice most likely won't happen this year due to the pandemic; however, this sugar cookie recipe doesn't disappoint! It is a timeless recipe passed down through generations, one that we make over and over again.

The Easiest Recipe for Channukah Jelly Donuts with Filling Variations to Die For
There’s an Israeli folktale that says that when Adam and Eve were expelled from the Garden of Eden for their sins, God tried to cheer them up by giving them jelly donuts. It sounds a bit ridiculous and all the scholars agree there is absolutely no basis in the scripture. Yet the story reflects the idea that the sweet confection we call donuts brings happiness.

The Search for the Best Chocolate Chip Cookies
My fiance and son are cookie fiends. Some days it feels like I can't make enough to satisfy their needs. Their all time favorite are, of course, chocolate chip cookies. But it's been a game of Goldilocks trying to get the perfect cookie for them.

Sugar Dusted
When I was young my favorite season with Christmas, not even because of the presents, but because of the mountains of sugar I got to create. My grandmother is southern in her soul and we made every cookie and cake a person could think of. This love of baking became instilled in me and I was named the family baker from a young enough age my Mom was terrified to let me do it alone. I learned and created until I found the best ways to make some magic out of dough. In High School I would bring a new type of cookie invention to school once a week and hand it out to the other students in my cross-cultural class.
