The Décor

The café is set over two floors with comfortable sofas and a grand piano in the basement. Cats come and go and you can find a relaxing environment for the comfort and safety of all with an occasional happy purr and meow.

The Café Cats

The resident cats have been given a second chance here at the café since they no longer have homes. They have been adopted from local shelters. All of the cats have been sterilized and are regularly vaccinated. All of them enjoy the company of other cats and humans. The café is regularly inspected by the DDPP Services for animal welfare and hygiene.

The Menu

There are many cakes and pastries to choose from. The café is great for brunch or dinner. There are tempting salads, hamburgers, veggie burgers, cheese plates, and charcuterie plates. Among the classic dishes are lasagna, quiches, and croquet monsieurs.

The Barbie Cafe

Ever since the movie “Barbie” came out last year both children and adults have had a whole new interest in a doll named Barbie. In the capital of Taiwan, Taipei The Barbie Café has opened its doors. Now if you have no preference for the color pink it is not recommended for you because most everything is pink but perhaps you might be curious to try it at least once. Fans of Barbie of course, love to try out this café.

The Décor

The walls of the café are pink and adorned by images of Barbie. All the chairs and tables are pink as well as the server uniforms and in the restaurant lobby, you’ll be greeted by a purse-shaped sofa. Once you have been seated you’ll find the female servers are wearing tiaras, pink T-shirts with Barbie images, and frilly pink tutu skirts. Male servers are wearing pink button-down collared shirts with dark-colored vests and ties to resemble Barbie’s long-time boyfriend Ken.

You’ll find yourself surrounded by furniture that looks like it came right out of Barbie’s Dream House or Dream Diner. The bar tables look like pink stiletto heels. The back of the chairs are shaped like lace-up bustiers and some are covered in frilly tutus. There are booths that resemble oversized princess thrones and chandeliers looking like elegant tea sets with pots, cups, and saucers.

If you would like to know what a Barbie doll might feel like when packaged there is a giant Barbie box into which you can step and feel like a life-sized and boxed Barbie doll.

The Menu

The menu at the Barbie Café was designed by professional nutritionists. When opening the menu there is a calorie chart and each item on the menu has calorie information. Among the dishes offered are Chicken Toast Box, Philadelphia Steak Salad, and Salmon Beauty Salad. For dessert, you can indulge in macaroons served in martini glasses and hazelnut tiramisu. The Barbie 128 is a pink drink. The café serves lunch, afternoon tea, and dinner.

Sherlock-themed Café

If you are a big fan of the world-famous detective Sherlock Holmes created by author Sir Arthur Conan Doyle then the Sherlock-themed Café named 221B Baker Street in Shanghai, China is the place for you to dine. However, when traveling keep in mind, that the actual address of the café is 50 Ruijin 2nd Road in the French Quarter.

The Décor

Entering the café you’ll see a wall of memorabilia for sale including miniature dolls of Martin Freeman as Dr. Watson. The design of the café is the look of the flat that Holmes and Watson shared along with Victorian brocade curtains. You’ll be encouraged by staff to use props to take photos. You can put on a deerstalker cap and pretend to play a plastic violin. On the mantelpiece, you’ll see a skull, a pipe, and a microscope for forensic examinations.

The Menu

The food items include Western sandwiches, cakes, and drinks with “Sherlock-type” names. You can order a Moriarty and enjoy coffee topped with vanilla ice cream. The waiters brew drinks in decorated mugs and your check is brought to you tucked into the brim of a hat.

Hajime Robot Restaurant

In Bangkok, you can find a restaurant called Hajime Robot Restaurant where your dinner will be served by a robot in a samurai suit and the robot can even do a dance for you.

The Décor

As you enter the restaurant you’ll see four rows of booths with a robot behind glass in between each pair of rows. The place is very modern and clean with spacious seats and two cooking areas in the middle of each table. Your server, the robot moves up and down in a row and places food on trays for you to collect. For your enjoyment, the robot will do a dance to popular music.

The Menu

At this Japanese restaurant, you have two stations on your table one to grill your food and one for Shabu, similar to a hot pot where food is boiled. There is a vast choice of meat and seafood as well as vegetables, rice, or noodles. If you like you can choose between sushi and sashimi.

If you love food and the more the better all any kinds of delicious foods you have to try the Heart Attack Grill in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The Décor

Frightening as it may be the Heart Attack Grill has a unique theme based on a visit to a hospital. The waitresses are “nurses” and the waiters are “doctors”. All of them are dressed in sexy medical attire. The owner known as Dr. Jon can be seen in the kitchen in a doctor’s coat flipping burgers. When you arrive you become a “patient” and you’re “checking in”. You’ll be given a medical gown and a wristband and then led to your table. The ceiling is adorned with giant bottles of meds.

The Menu

The menu consists of calorie-laden dishes like beer-battered onion rings and Flatliner fries topped with chili and cheese sauce for starters. You can choose from items like burgers from a single patty to a five-bacon strip called a Single Bypass Burger. The Octuple Bypass Burger includes eight patties and 40 strips of bacon. The Coronary Dog is a half-pound hotdog with chili, bacon, and cheese.

New York

The Nutella Café

For people who just love the chocolate, hazelnut spread Nutella finally a café featuring items prepared with this spread has opened up on New York City at University Place by Union Square in Manhattan.

The Décor

The café gives off a futuristic feel with white walls, modern light fixtures, and plenty of images of the Nutella logo.

The Menu

You can indulge in such Nutella dreams as a pound cake panzanella with yogurt, basil, mixed berries, Nutella drizzle, and toasted hazelnuts. Perhaps you might like a frozen Nutella pop with Nutella gelato and topped with chopped hazelnuts. There is also the choice of grilled banana bread with Nutella mixed in and topped with banana slices and toasted hazelnuts. For the adventurous types, there is a create-your-own station where you can choose between a Nutella-topped base – crepe, French toast, pancake, or country-style oats and go to town with your choice of toppings.
