Animals Deserve Equality Too
Stated by the Animal Legal Defense Fund, factory farming industries currently have no federal laws regarding conditions the farmed animals are raised in. Factories as well, individually pick the animal cruelty “standard.” These farm animals suffering are not exempt from state animal cruelty laws, why? Why would state laws of animal cruelty not be applied to farm animals of the state? There should be federal rules and regulations that end animal cruelty.

Around the Coffee in Five Countries
Italy Italy is well known for having the best coffee in the world but ordered in a unique way. It does seem to work for them but when I ordered an espresso it came at a very high temperature, at which I could not drink straight away, and I had a burnt tongue after as I decided to neck it. I saw that every time I ordered an espresso, it was always accompanied with a glass of water (sometimes still, sometimes sparkling). When you drink the water after a sip of espresso it tends to cleanse your palate. So that the next time you have a sip you will enjoy the flavour of the coffee more. Italians don’t order an espresso because of the caffeine and the strength of the coffee; they order it because it is very rich and flavoursome. In Italy, I also found that you should not have a latte or a cappuccino in the morning as they cringe at the idea of having a stomach full of milk in the morning. If you want to stay in their tradition, you should only have an espresso in the morning and have a latte or cappuccino later, such as for lunch or even dinner. For me I found that Kimbo coffee was the best I tasted out there by far, it was just so succulent and rich and just had tons of flavour to the coffee. I highly recommend Kimbo coffee but use a Moka pot to brew it to get the best flavour out of the coffee.

7 Quick Tips for a New Vegan
1. Take your time. Despite the hype, going vegan is not an easy task for most people. To the majority, it is a major life changing decision. And with any major decision, it requires patience, research, and a well thought-out plan. Often people try to go cold turkey and before they know it, they are back on the meat train. Give yourself some wiggle room. Instead of completely cutting out all meat and dairy, try to incorporate meatless meals a few days a week.

Veganism Sucks
Let me just start off by saying, veganism is on the rise, you know it, I know it, the vegan population has grown by over 600% in the US in the last five years. With that comes a lot of truth, and a lot of lies about what it means to be vegan and the effect it has on you and the world around you. I just wanted to clear the air a little bit and address some of the reasons why it is NOT a good idea to go vegan from experience.

The Magic of the Empanada
“All you need is flour, eggs, and water,” is a funny little saying that my mother would say so loud and proud. As a child, I only worried about starting a day with a quest—typically wrapping my bed sheet around my body like a shawl with a hoodie. A quest that would start from the Sahara Desert to Amazon Jungle. Never to think, nor understand those eight little words that can be so easily missed. I was a naïve puppy looking at their owner as they talk in some embarrassing way that’s slow and dumb sounding. All the puppy was able to dow was sit there with its ears collapsed on both sides, tilting their head with a cute but confused look on their face, but yet so interested. That was evident whenever my mother would say those eight little words. I never did understand, until recently in my life, on an evening during my winter break.
