4 Snacks That Saved My Diet . Top Story - May 2018.
Now I don't know about you but I am definitely a food-oriented person. I plan my day around my meals and I love to eat. I worked with a girl once that told me she always forgets to eat and it shocked me so much I choked up a little bit. I always used to half-joke that if I failed at everything else in life I would pursue becoming a competitive eater because, boy. Could. I. Eat. In summary, food is very much a passion and priority of mine.

Top 10 Foods You Have to Try From Kerala
Kerala is tradition, and this cannot be portrayed better than through its presentation, preparation and consumption of food. Having lived seven years of my young life in Kerala, and being brought up for the rest with my mum's amazing Kerala cuisine, I thought it would be the best first post for me to share something close to my heart.

10 Kitchen Tools That Will Make You a Grill Master
My husband and I were completely lost when we wanted to grill in the summer. Since we moved from an apartment to a home, we had never barbecued before. We read up on grilling tips for beginners and learned about the best grilled desserts made with fruit, but needed to know more about the best grilling gear. We had an idea of what we needed from the days when our parents used to grill for us, but we didn't know everything.

Healthy DIY Snacks
The Story Behind My Decision to Eat Healthier (Healthier is there for a reason.) Have you ever wanted a snack but couldn't find anything that was both healthy and filling? Eating healthy doesn't have to sound so frightening. We all want to eat better, so we can live a long and healthy life. Trust me, I have always been the "Let's grab a brownie from the nearest cake shop," or "How about let's go to a fast food restaurant instead?" type of gal. It was all mashed potatoes and gravy until the day I got married and started a family. I had my family's health to consider when choosing what to eat. Could I have really just gone to a fast food restaurant every day? I could have, but I made a wiser decision. I'm going to be honest, my husband was quite worried at first. He questioned my healthy snacks and dinners 100 percent of the time. With a little practice and patience, my husband now requests that we eat my famously healthy foods. Who would have thought? Now, my next task will have to be convincing my children to like it just as much as he does! Well, enough about me, let's get to it. I have discovered two DIY healthy snacks that keep you fuller longer. :)

Sugar Cookies
Sweets have always been my thing, but of late, I bake them more than I eat them. I’ve found that baking greatly helps with my depression and anxiety, mainly because I am doing something with my hands. It’s all fine by me; I bake them and the boyfriend eats them all, and lately we’ve both had this idea that since I want to advertise and sell homemade books of poetry, we’ve been thinking of baking a lot of goodies and selling them alongside my books at Drum Circle every Sunday at Liberty Park here in Salt Lake City. As a child, my mom was instructed to feed me peanut butter cookies to put weight on me, and I remember how much fun it was when she’d get the eggs, peanut butter, and sugar out and let me roll the dough into little balls before pressing them down with a fork. It was even better when my dad came home and grabbed the fresh ones, telling me I was a great cook and needed to make more. As I got older, I started branching out and making my own variations of each cookie, intent to eat the dough rather than eat the baked goods. That still stands today! I keep having to tell myself to put the dough on the cookie sheet instead of in my mouth! There’s just something about uncooked cookies that makes the process fun. Culinary schools will tell you not to eat raw cookie dough because of the egg, but our grandparents ate dozens of raw eggs after school every day when they were younger (a story my grandfather loves to tell). Let’s face it, cookie dough is like ice cream. It helps take all the bad away after a nasty breakup, if not doing a way better job than ice cream.

10 Top-Rated Cast Iron Cookware Sets
There are a ton of benefits that come with using cast iron as your cookware. I personally have a cast iron cookware set and I've never been more pleased than to have made the switch. If they're seasoned properly and often, the food I cook doesn't stick to the pots and pans, and it prevents food from burning, too! Cooking certain foods is much easier when I'm using my cast iron set—especially for dinner parties. I'm all about presentations for my dinner parties, or even when a guest is coming over for dinner. I want everything to be cooked precisely and not burnt.

The Bronx Vegan Eats: Hungry Bird. Top Story - May 2018.
Indian food can never do wrong in my eyes. It’s the melodious blend of spices and textures that makes me crave this cuisine on special days. The last time I had Indian food was before my vegan transition where I was quite obsessed with chicken tikka masala and other meals that included meat. I thought my days of enjoying this food was over, until I stumbled upon Healthy Bird.

The Bronx Vegan Eats: Pizzaniste
Undoubtedly, the one food I missed most when turning vegan was the glory that is pizza. I tried pizza without cheese from Papa Dominoes and neither really lived up to my high NYC dwelling standards (although I hear Dominoes is offering vegan cheese in the U.K.! U.S. next Dominoes?) but it was enough to make me search more. Using my trusty food ordering app, I took a chance and searched for vegan pizza. To my surprise, I found a spot that was in The Bronx and in delivering distance! Hallelujah!
