A Best Friend's Love
Dear Meaghan, You have been an inspiration to me since we became friends. You're so kind and thoughtful and you never give up on anything, even when someone might've pushed you to. When I was sad, you lifted me up. When I had a crisis, you helped me to breathe. When I doubted myself, you gave me courage and confidence.

An Open Letter to My Sister
Dear Ashley, When Joshua started dating you, I was ecstatic! I immediately considered you to be the sister that I never had. Having three older brothers made me cling to you, which annoyed Joshua to no end. I’m sure I was overwhelming (an eight-year-old girl that frequently ran around naked) to you (an only child), but you still tucked me in at night and listened to what I had to say. You have no idea how much that meant to me. I craved the connection that my brothers shared simply because they were boys. They had this shared inside understanding and I was jealous. You filled the void perfectly! And as I got older, that connection became even more essential to me. I remember feeling so cool when you would take me to the mall or to get a snow cone. It felt so nice to know that you actually wanted to hang out with me. When I was eleven or so, the bullying that I experienced at school got worse and I was in a really dark place, but your hangouts helped keep me going. You encouraged me without knowing it and made me feel wanted when it seemed like none of my other friends cared about me. In fact, you were the first person I talked to about my struggles with mental health because I knew that you wouldn’t freak out.

To My Hero
I may seem a little cliché, but I would have to say that the biggest hero in my life is my sister. She has saved me multiple times without realizing it and was practically my mom for most of my life. I wouldn't be who I am today without her and I could never thank her enough.

A spectrum of Sisters
My sister is six years older than me, and she’s neurotypical… She’s the middle child, was popular in school, stunningly beautiful, incredibly intelligent, and when we were children she like many teenage girls found it difficult to understand someone who didn’t fit into the boxes that society had created for the human race, even if one of those people was her little sister.

My Sister: Coleen is going to have a cow
August 11, 1967, Coleen Renee Sims arrived to make me miserable. I had no clue just how important my sister would be to me later in life. She is my best friend and the only person who has always been honest with me. She will get angry when I show this to the public, she will also be proud of what I say.

3 Biggest Regrets People Have When It's Too Late To Change Anything
We all have regrets. Moments when we look into our past and wish things went a bit differently. It’s even more painful if those things could have easily been prevented. If there was just something we could have done done differently.

Lucky Charms & Chicken Gizzards
It’s funny to me the things that we tuck away in our millions of memory file cabinets in contrast to the things that we choose to put in the trash bin of life experiences. I’m guessing only the memories that leave a mark are the ones that remain with us to inspect later in life. Perhaps we attempt to find the value in either the joy or the pain of it all. Or we try to figure out why we are like we are…maybe we try to find out where we went right or where we went wrong.

Bugar Holler Owl
Winters are very cold in Bugar Holler and Johnny was only 11 years old. Hey Johnny! Can you do your Momma a favor and walk down to Johnson's store and grab a loaf of bread and a gallon of milk? Johnny lifted his head from the pillow, "let me get my boots on."
