Siblings are the only enemy you can't live without.
The perfect summer meal!
"Kids, come get your sandwiches!" Those were the words we would never tire of hearing after a long stay in the pool! The sandwiches were simply magical! Perhaps it was due to us playing for hours on end in the pool with all sorts of exhausting and daring water games. Or perhaps it was due to the simple novelty of eating outside with all the freedom of roaming around and getting to play all while holding food. That's something we never would have gotten away with in the house! Or perhaps it was simply how delicious the sandwiches were with the creamy peanut butter, the overflowing yummy jam, and the soft white bread; all coming into a sweet harmonious flavor, sending our brains on a happy dancing spree!

Soul Sisters
We first met when I was in ninth grade, and she was in the seventh grade in a small farming town in lower Alabama. Opposite, but alike if that makes sense. I was the competitive class clown. She was more reserved and serious. Both driven to succeed academically and escape.

The Trouble With...(Pt. 3)
Justin was expecting a new sibling. Because he was 3 ½, my husband, Jamie, and I spent a great deal of time explaining to him what was going to happen and how difficult it might be for him at first. It is difficult for new parents to understand the concept of the mother spending more time with the new baby than with the husband. It is harder, I think, for children to understand why this happens. But Justin was very logical. The more I explained how infants required so much more attention because they are helpless, the more he wanted to help. And we wanted him to be involved with everything so he wouldn’t feel left out. I let him choose the music we played for the baby during pregnancy. This usually consisted of Queen, Bon Jovi, Pat Benatar, MTV, and nothing soothing. It was the mid 1980s, after after all!

Who broke the blind?
Dear mom, Do you remember back in 2001 when we were living in the apartments in South Garden? You asked all 3 of my siblings including myself who broke the blind from the window? Well, I have a confession, I did it! Im finally admitting it after 21 years because I’m an adult lol. Let me tell you the story of how it all went down and why I never told a single soul not even you or my brothers and sister.

The Love Languages of Oldest Siblings
The epiphany came to me one night after my fiancée and I adopted our 4-year-old rescue dog, Ace (bear with me). Due to his reactive nature towards our cat, Pesto, the living/kitchen of my small apartment become a space for Ace while my bedroom was for Pesto. The first few weeks, Ace’s vocal need for attention knew no boundary, certainly not at night. Therefore, I spent those first few weeks sleeping on the couch with Ace, working with his separation anxiety until I could finally return to my bed. During those weeks, Pesto unfortunately received less attention then the time B.A. (Before Ace) and was less than pleased about that.
