A Best Friend's Love

Dear Meaghan,

You have been an inspiration to me since we became friends. You're so kind and thoughtful and you never give up on anything, even when someone might've pushed you to. When I was sad, you lifted me up. When I had a crisis, you helped me to breathe. When I doubted myself, you gave me courage and confidence.

You're always surrounded by people and those people admire and love you the way I do. You have a family in your friends. You may think you're an only child but I can tell you right now that you are my sister. You always will be. From the day we met and talked and became friends to the day we die and everyday after that, you are my sister.

You always say that you were scared to talk to me because you thought I might be mean because I was so quiet and I want to thank you for doing it anyway because you have made my life a better one than it ever was. When I couldn't dance, you were my feet, even if you really aren't a dancer. When I couldn't speak, you were my voice... we have the same mind anyway so it wasn't that hard.

Some of my favourite moments have been with you at your house, in your basement, cuddled on that weird couch chair thing watching Supernatural and eating snacks. Singing and dancing around the room. Singing under the stairs at school. Singing in the courtyard. Talking, laughing, hugging. Whatever it was, you were there for those moments and I can't thank you enough for that.

Have you ever seen Grey's Anatomy? Well just like Christina and Meredith, you are my person. My soulmate. I can talk to you about anything and know that it's okay. I can cry and laugh with you. I can scream and yell with you. I can laugh at you sometimes because you are a weirdo ... but so am I. We are M squared and we always will be.

When I felt that I wasn't good enough and should just quit, you were the one that told me I was crazy. When there were teachers knocking you down left and right, I was there to help you through it but I didn't need to do much because you were the one that had the courage to stand up and fight back.

Even if you're not here in Calgary with me right now, you're still with me. You're the person I wanna tell when things go wrong. You;re the person I wanna tell when things go perfect. You're the person I wanna tell when anything happens to me or around me. You're the person.

I can't wait to see you again and I can't wait to sing together again. I'm so proud of you in your new school, even if you aren't with me. I'm so proud of your work and your confidence that has grown so much. I can't wait to see what you'll do with your life because I know it will be big things. There's nothing that can stop you because you are amazing and I just really hope you know that and remember that. Of course, if you don't, I will be there to smack some sense into you because you are amazing! I'm so proud of how far we've come together and I know that we will both continue to grow both as individuals and as best friends because that's who we are. You will always be there for me to hug and hold onto.

I love you Meaghan. You are my hero. My soulmate. My person. I can't wait to see where we both end up in our lives and I know it will be together even if we're thousands of miles apart. Stay confident. Stay you. I love you and I will never stop.
