Inheritance Dilemma: How Tradition, Ignorance, and Patriarchy Keep Dividing Families
In Kosovo, the issue of inheritance is more than just a legal matter—it’s a cultural battleground. Despite laws that regulate it, inheritance remains a deeply contentious topic, tearing families apart, silencing women, and flooding courts with cases that drag on for years. Why does this problem persist in a society that’s rapidly modernizing? Is it purely cultural, or are there deeper layers of misunderstanding about genetics, equality, and tradition at play?

The Silent Language
The old oak tree in the backyard had always been a silent witness to the Thompson family's life. Its branches, gnarled and weathered, had seen generations come and go, their laughter echoing through the leaves, their tears falling like gentle rain. For the Thompsons, the tree was more than just a fixture in their yard; it was a symbol of their enduring bond, a silent guardian of their unspoken language.

A Mother's Silent Cries
"A Mother's Silent Cries" The night stretched on endlessly wrapping the world in darkness. The silence outside was deceiving because inside her a storm raged. Sophia lay on her bed staring at the ceiling, her hands resting on her swollen belly. The small movements of the baby inside her were a reminder of the life she carried the life she had to protect. She was nine months pregnant but instead of excitement she felt nothing but loneliness. Her heart ached in ways she could not explain. Her body throbbed with pain her back hurt constantly and every movement sent sharp waves of discomfort through her. But worst of all was the emptiness the crushing realization that she was going through this journey alone. She turned her head slightly looking at the man who lay beside her Daniel. Once upon a time his presence had meant everything to her. He had held her close whispered sweet promises and told her he would always be there. But now, he seemed like a stranger. Ever since she got pregnant things had changed. He no longer looked at her the way he used to. There was no warmth in his touch no love in his eyes. He spent long hours at work came home late and barely spoke to her. On some nights he would scroll through his phone endlessly and on others he would simply turn his back to her and fall asleep. Sophia had convinced herself that it was just stress that he was tired that things would get better after the baby arrived. But deep down she knew the truth he was drifting away.

Normal Mom Worries or Anxiety?
It’s 3am. I’m standing over my son’s crib, hand on his back, counting his breaths… again. As a behavioral specialist, I know this is textbook anxiety behavior. As a mom of four (including twins!), I’m doing it anyway.

Power of Voice
A Journey That Began With Two Suitcases I come from a small town, one where my parents built their entire world from scratch. They arrived there over 42 years ago, carrying nothing but two suitcases and a heart full of dreams. They found shelter in a tiny home for just ₹15, and that little town gave them everything—a stable job, food, security, and, most importantly, a future for their three children.
