The boundless love a parent has for their child is matched only by their capacity to embarrass them.
Why I Love Coffee Culture
I do love caffeine! Like many over 40s with kids and a packed week, I rely quite heavily on caffeine to perk me up and get me through the 'joys' of domestic life. Let's be honest, making packed lunches, pairing socks, and doing homework with a reluctant seven year old isn't exactly what dreams are made of, but there's no point in kicking and sulking (no-one would even notice, anyway), so you either reach for the bottle, or you grab a coffee! (Or two, or three...)

Permission
“Everyone was perfectly fine with the way things were. Everyone but Mr. Tiger”, I read tracing the words across the page. My other arm wrapped around Sylvan. It is bed time. It could also be nap time, break time, or really any time, because we don’t need an excuse to read this book. It is his favorite. It is my favorite too.

Fatherly Love
I hate Language Arts class. It’s really a waste of time for me at this point in my life. I understand the grammar and spelling of most words used in everyday language. I can read and analyze Bram Stoker’s Dracula or Shakespeare’s Hamlet without some middle-age, overweight, divorced woman facilitating the entire process. I really should’ve skipped a grade and begun high school early. Hell, I should be in the 11th grade by now, but here I am…surrounded by children…

My own version of Mom Life
The kids screaming as they play and run around the house, laundry and dishes piling up, the dogs looking at me, wondering when I will pay attention to them, lunch needs to be made, and I won’t even get started on all the various “projects” I have started and have not finished yet. These projects range from reorganizing all the closets and old clothes to my business products that need to be shipped out. Before I became a mother, I was organized, the entire house immaculately clean, and I was extremely ambitious but did not accomplish much. Now, as a wife and a mother of two, I feel as though I live in an organized chaotic universe and I accomplish more now than I did before when I only had to take care of me.
