Book Review- A Court of Thorns and Roses
About the Author Sarah J. Maas is the author of many bestselling books such as Crescent City, A Court of Thorns and Roses, and The Throne of Glass series. I’d heard about her books but hadn’t picked one up until I did this month on a whim because I didn’t have anything else to read. Yet. She’s a New York Native and lives there still. Book Review- A Fragile Enchantment
About the Author Allison Saft, author of “A Fragile Enchantment” is also the bestselling author of “A Far Wilder Magic” and “Down Comes the Night”. She has a Masters in English Literature, and her love of stories shows clearly in her details, descriptions, and creativity. She has a new book coming out in September 2024, titled “A Dark and Drowning Tide” Fans of hers will be looking forward to the new book.

Book Review: House of Roots and Ruin
About the Author Erin A. Craig is a New York Times bestselling author. Her published titles include, “House of Salt and Sorrow”, “Small Favors”, “Together, Apart”, and of course this book, “House of Root and Ruin” which is the second book of the Sisters of the Salt series. Her bio mentions that she’s always loved telling stories, and that’s pretty clear based on the Sisters of the Salt series. I’ve not struggled to put a book down too often, but her books always hook me.

Book Review: To Kill a Shadow
About the Author- Katherine Quinn is most well-known for her book series “The Girl Who Belonged to the Sea” (The Azantian Trilogy #1) along with its second installment, “On These Wicked Shores” (The Azantian Trilogy #2) The third book just recently came out, “Crown of Salt and Bone” along with this book I’m reviewing today, “To Kill a Shadow” (Mistlands #1) the first book in the series.

About the Author- Isabel Ibanez, a fellow word nerd and writer; hails from Boca Raton, Florida, and has two lovely daughters. She has a Creative Writing degree and has been a mentor for Pitch Wars the last three years.

Book Review: Murtagh
About the Author Christopher Paolini has written epic fantasy stories such as Eragon, , Eldest, Brisinger and Inheritance; and they are all from the “Inheritance Cycle” book series. Murtagh is the latest addition to the series. Montana resident, Paolini sent shockwaves through the world when he published his debut book “Eragon” in 2003, and since then his stories have been favorites of young and old readers. He also has published an adult novel, "To Sleep in a Sea of Stars” which was his debut book into that genre and Fractal Noise, a second book in the Fractalverse series. He was 19 when he published Eragon. I remember reading the book and just being captured and awed by this new world.

Book Review: This Dark Descent
The Author Kalyn Josephson NYT Bestselling author of series like; The Storm Crow Series Ravenfall Series This Dark Descent which is listed as Book 1# which means there is more story to come. Josephson is a Technical Writer, but that doesn’t stop her from writing fantasy-driven stories. Both Ravenfall and Hollowthorn are Middle-Grade books, while The Storm Crow and This Dark Descent are Young Adult books.

Book Review: A Study in Drowning
I received this book as a part of my September Owlcrate box. When I first read the summary of the book I was pretty intrigued by its premise. The story seemed genuinely good and in the end, it didn't disappoint. However, there are some things about this book that I struggled with as I read.

Book Review: House of Salt and Sorrows
When I tell you that this book had me gripped from the first page, I'm being totally serious. I read a lot, and there are many books that I read the first chapters of and just put down forever. I was so in love with the characters, the fantasy aspect, the murder! The banter between characters, the hopeless romantics that all the sisters are, and the charm and brazenness of the family. It had my attention for an entire week. I can crack through a book in a few hours if I want to, but this one I decided to savor. I read a chapter every night and had to will myself to wait.

Book Review: Omen of Ice
I got this book as part of my Owlcrate Box for August 2023 "Through the Seasons" monthly box. It was a beautiful book with a custom cover and blue-dusted edges. In the past this was not something Owlcrate did, but in the last couple of years, they have really started doing custom covers, sprayed and flourished edges, fully custom hardcovers underneath custom dust covers, and included author's letters inside the books.
