The history of India is vast and complex, stretching back over 5000 years. The Indus Valley Civilization is considered one of the earliest in world history, with its decline leading to the rise of newer civilizations such as the Hindu culture around 1500 BC. Ancient India saw some of the earliest religions such as Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, and Sikhism developing and becoming widespread. It also saw the rise and fall of some of the world’s greatest empires such as the Mauryan, Gupta, Mughal, and the British Raj.

The most visited place in India is the majestic Taj Mahal in Agra. This impressive ivory-white marble mausoleum was built by Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal in 1632. It is one of the seven wonders of the world and attracts millions of tourists each year.

India is also home to an incredibly rich and diverse array of wildlife. Tigers, elephants, leopards, rhinoceroses, and bears roam the country’s vast national parks and sanctuaries. The stunning Himalayan mountains of the north host foxes, wolves, and snow leopards.
