How to keep things interesting and imaginative 'You Can't Climb the Stairs in a Princess Dress' a children's picture book created by Chris Rushbrooke and Charlotte Davidge. This is the story of Hattie and along with her family and friends who all wonder if one could climb the stairs wearing a princess dress. All the characters do a get a chance to see in their way if this is a doable activity.

Chris Rushbrooke does tell a story through his words what climbing the stairs feels like, as Charlotte Davidge shows through her artwork that shows what all the characters looked like performing this activity. Chris wrote this book for his parents as a way to say thank you. Teachers could use this story as a kind of introduction to a Physical education lesson on balance or even running an obstacle course. It could also be used for a lesson on diversity of race, age, and ethnicity.
