Introduction

Although I entered three stories into this challenge, I expect Vocal have already made their usual choices, and you never know, I might be there as a token extra.

The music is "Disappear" by Mazzy Star

The Reason I Have Written This

I am finding it difficult to write at the moment, but I wanted to say things in that Challenge that there is no way I could say. They were just honest about the state of things, but would not change anything.

The fact that I am writing this means that I am writing, and when I publish this, I know that a lot more will flow from it.

I find music a great stimulant, and recently I found out my CD player played MP3 CDs, which meant I could have it playing for a day or more without changing. This is how I discovered it:

Today I discovered a slight problem, while I can drop multiple albums and artists onto the CDs, and most of the time I know what I am listening to, today an album was playing, and I didn't know who it was. I should have done. It is part of my collection. I thought, who the hell is this? It's great.

I thought that I could stop the CD, check the track list, and then I would know. It was song 48 on the player, but that was a lot of messing. The song was "Behind The Pyramids" by The Third Ear Band.

The Third Ear Band - "Behind The Pyramids"

I found it because I have Shazam on my phone, though it's probably the first time I have used it to find a song in my collection.

So, you can see, I have wandered away from the original premise of what I was writing in this brief critique of my situation.

I now feel better placed to write some more, maybe fiction, maybe a poem, but this has been a great way of clearing my block.

Thank you so much for reading, and I hope you liked the music I shared.

As I finish this piece, "Outside The Dream Syndicate" by Tony Conrad and Faust is playing. This goes on for an hour and a half, and I recognised this immediately by the extreme minimalist violin drone.

You are a writer that can write and share whatever is on your mind and it comes out great and always makes one think how can I fit this in my work and life.

I love that your wrote your way through the lack of creativity and then published those string of thoughts :)

  • Yep, on a tangent to produce a great read! No, you appeared quite clearly.

  • Hahahahahahaha I love how you went on a tangent!

Sometimes the best way to break through a block is to write your way around it. I loved how this meandered through music and back to motivation.

  • So what was the mysterious unknown song? Out of all loops personally, so what is Shazam?
