Fun With A Bosch Tassimo

A Coffee Machine In Hebden Bridge

The Coffee Machine In Our Hebden Bridge House

Introduction

We are all fans of convenience, the "just press a button" mentality, and when we walked into the house in Hebden Bridge we a saw a Bosch Tassimo coffee machine, which are supposed to make perfect coffee.

I usually make instant coffee or use a cafetiere which are both fairly simple procedures but this was not what I expected.

I am working on an old laptop compute, as my main laptops disc died one year and two days after buying it.

It also didn't help that the internet was incredible flakey, but a router reset seemed to fix that.

The music is "Lord Hereford's Knob" from "CSI: Ambleside" by Half Man Half Biscuit because it makes a disparaging comment about the chattering classes in Hebden Bridge.

Fun With A Bosch Tassimo

These are sold as perfect coffee makers, but they use pods which I do not find very ecolgical. My first try resulted in a bit of milk in the bottom of the cup. Not impressed.

You are supposed to press a button to get your perfect cup of coffee, I got milk all over the place.

The following morning, I tried again and got some coffee coloured water. I filled it up with hot water and milk and it tasted fine, if long winded.

This their instructions:

How to use TASSIMO & TASSIMO pods?

It’s never been simpler or quicker to make coffee, tea or hot chocolate! You’ll find that all TASSIMO coffee machines are super easy to use. Just follow the steps listed below to create your favourite drink:

Check that the power is on and the water tank is full.

Choose a T DISC and load it into the machine’s disc compartment, with the barcode facing down. T DISCs are the official TASSIMO pods.

Firmly close the lid and make sure it’s shut. Position a cup on the cup stand and push the start button. A delicious drink will be ready in seconds!

That is a lie. To make cappucino you have to use two pods and still add more water.

I find these machines adequate at best but the coffee is ok.

Conclusion

I will not be recommending or buying one of these, but I now know how to use one.

Thank you for reading and let me know if you have a similar device and how you find it.

A product review of one I have never heard of and glad I have not. I will stick to my old electric perk coffeepot. Good job.

Now I know which brand to not use! We have a Keurig and it works just fine for us (for now). I know that pods aren’t very ecological, but it’s a time-saver and more convenient than trying to guess how many cups of coffee we’re each going to drink that day and making enough coffee for that in one brew and then possibly having to dump extra down the sink at the end of the day.

At least you acquired a new skill! I don't recognize the Tassimo brand name, but that sounds like an over-engineered nightmare. We do like Bosch for appliances as well as tools. For coffee, we have a Hamilton Beach FlexBrew, that brews a 12-cup carafe on one side or Kuerig cups on the other. The K-cup side is rarely used, but every once in a while, we'll try a new flavor.

We have Keurigs at work. I am not a fan of pod coffee makers, either.

Ah this is great. I’ve seen these around and was thinking about Tassimo for a treat for myself on my birthday. Thanks for the honest and detailed review mate. It doesn’t seem like my thing. Saved me plenty x

I make coffee the old fashioned way. I have better control on how strong the coffee bitter taste come out to make a perfect blend with the coffee cream
