Detectorists
A Lovely BBC TV Series

Introduction
I had watched a few episodes of Detectorists, and last week, while I was in Hebden Bridge, I decided to watch it all. If you have access to BBC iPlayer, it is free to watch here:
This is a little of the blurb:
Mackenzie Crook (Pirates of the Caribbean) and Toby Jones (The Hunger Games) strike comedic gold in this critically adored series about two oddballs scouring the English countryside for treasure. If only their characters, Andy and Lance, could be so fortunate.
They're not metal detectors, they're detectorists. Misfit friends Lance and Andy comb the fields of Danebury for hidden treasure and a change of fortune.
Why I Enjoy Detectorists
It's written and directed by Mackenzie Crook and has a stellar cast, including Diana Rigg, Toby Jones and Simon Farnaby, but everyone in it is brilliant.

Lance and Andy are continually correcting people, "They're not metal detectors, they're detectorists", and they hunt with the detectors, hoping to find some lost treasure, but usually finding ring pulls, buttons, badges and tin cans.
They have their own group, the DMDC, but they are constantly harassed by Phil and Paul (Simon and Garfunkel)

Each episode is around half an hour, and there are twenty and they all are enjoyable. There is always a feeling of hope, even when things go wrong.
This has been an easy, joyful watch for me, and has taken me less than a fortnight.
If you have access to this series, give it a try; you might be, like me, delighted by it.

I will have to look this up....I just watched a police show on BBC, I loved it
Sounds like fun to watch if I was able to get all the BBC shows over here. Thanks for sharing, Mr. Mike. Good job on this review.
I haven't heard of it, but it does look like fun!
