Movie Review: 'The Lie' is an Unintentionally Laugh Out Loud Comedy
The Lie is one of the dumber movies I have seen in a long while. This sleezy production from Blumhouse Productions, better known for cheap horror, than anything remotely like The Lie, wants to put you in the awkward position of being the parents of a child who has murdered a friend. The filmmakers want you to ask what you would do in order to protect your child from going to prison for murder. For a good person, this question is very easy. For the low brain-power characters of The Lie it’s a plot contrivance.

Still No Justice for Breonna Taylor
I have been trying to write this article for two weeks. I wanted it to be accurate and factual. The more I researched and the more I read, the more difficult it became for me to write. My emotions kept me on a non ending up and down swing. I felt angry at a system which has denied Breonna Taylor justice. I felt overwhelmed that this is happening again and again and again. I felt deeply disappointed that after all this time, the justice system still works against people of color. It feels sometimes like cops are in our neighborhoods to herd us around and then abuse us. All the while they know that they will never be held accountable for any mistreatment. They can let their bullets loose, 32 bullets in this case, and no real substantive questions will be asked. Well, I have a few questions and I want a few answers.

That time I was stopped and searched
We all know the current state of the world in regards to racism and perceptions of law enforcement. The conversation has brought up some past memories of my own that I have been meaning to share but I feel like now is the perfect time to tell this story.

Criminalistics
In many ways, the popular fictional character Sherlock Holmes is a direct descendant of John Locard, one of the most influential forensic scientists of his time. The actual working practice for forensic scientists is very similar to the way it is portrayed in Sherlock Holmes, in which the acute investigation of a crime scene provides small clues to a precise sequence of events.

Nathaniel Bar-Jonah
Nathaniel Bar-Jonah was born David Paul Brown on February 15, 1957 in Worcester, Massachusetts. In July 1964, when he was seven years old, Nathaniel lured a neighbor into his basement. He told the five-year-old girl that he had gotten a Ouija board for his birthday and that it could predict the future. He tried to strangle the girl, but she screamed which alerted Bar-Jonah’s mother and she came to rescue the girl. Nathaniel lured a six-year-old neighbor boy to a hill to go sledding in January 1970 when he was twelve years old. When they got to the hill, Nathaniel sexually assaulted the little boy. A few years later, he tried to lure two boys who were riding their bikes down his street to a cemetery to murder them. One of the boys was suspicious and convinced the other boy not to go.

A Time to Live
“I’m going to be late again” He said for the hundredth time, knowing all too well the resistance he would be met with. Kate would always urge him home, after all Sarah had school in the morning and will be in bed soon. Neither of them see very much of him lately.

Crime Scenes and Raspberry Jam
It was my second week of field training when I got my first crime scene assigned to me. At roll call, myself and my partner were told to immediately fall out and respond to the housing project on e163 street. There were numerous buildings in the complex, each in the 10-14 story range for height. One of the first things I had noticed when I had the post earlier in the week were the number of people middle aged and younger walking with limps, canes and in wheel chairs. I mentioned my observation to a cop with a little more time on then me, and he suggested it had to do with the large number of shootings in the precinct. It was as good an answer as any, but it didn't make me feel all that much better.

A Film Addict Reviews! Molly’s Game
Films that are based on true stories could always be embellished due to how the studio wanting to dramatize it. Also, films like those are also missing some vital pieces are rush through things just for the sake of telling the story. Molly’s Game would probably benefit from one.
