The Yellow of Bolzano. Top Story - February 2021.
On January 5th, 2021, Benno Neumair reported his parents missing from the house they shared on the edge of Bolzano, Italy. Bolzano is in the Alto-Adige region or Italy—northwest of Venice, in the alps, near Liechtenstein. It’s an area where the locals speak German rather than Italian. In fact, when I was at a language school in Bologna, learning Italian, one of the other students at the school was a man from Bolzano. That’s right—he was in his mid-twenties, grew up IN ITALY, and was learning Italian.

The Ocean's Assassin
The waves of the ocean crashing against a day's worth of worn in sand is a calming and familiar loudness I can't seem to place. The problems I have faced throughout the week simply wash away with the tide. It cleanses me. I get so dirty so quickly, not with soot or grime from working hard physically, but from draining myself mentally. I am so drained. So exhausted. Her siren songs call to me in my darkest hours and I have no other choice but to drive towards her. Nothing in me wants to resist, even if it may not be a wise decision to go see her. I'm in love with her. How could I possibly neglect those emotions and force myself to suffer from the sharp dagger that is my desperation for her? And so I go.

I Guess Now We Are Criminals
It was a brisk November evening in Des Moines, Iowa; Alice was mindlessly swiping left and right on her recently created Tinder profile. She stops on one profile that catches her eye. His name was Derrick, he had 2 cats, no kids and a seemingly nice job considering the backdrop of most of his photos. How can this guy be real? How would he ever be single? She asked herself. He was beyond hot, prompting her to swipe right an lo and behold they matched. She couldn’t believe her luck, how could a guy like him be interested in a girl like me? She felt her heart start to race a little when he messaged her asking how her day was. They talked all day and night and he seemed to be really interested Alice. He was asking all sorts of questions about her life and family. After about a week of chatting, Derrick finally asked when they could meet up to meet face to face. Although she felt like she had known this man her whole life after only a week, she opted to meet in public first. Derrick suggested a nice dinner at one of the fanciest restaurants in the whole city. He lives further out from the city so he told her he would just get a hotel room for the night. She thought “I know where that’s going” but told herself that she will just have to see how dinner goes first. Little did she know she had absolutely no idea how this date would end.

The Full Story Behind #JusticeForIjeoma - The Girl Killed For Having an Affair.
This story is...A LOT! I don't know how closely you follow the news or news stories, but I live and breathe the news. One particular story that broke about 3 months ago, in November of 2020 to be specific, was the story of a young woman - a makeup artiste by the name of Ijeoma Nweke who had gone missing.

Murder
Every Sunday, like clockwork Andrew woke up exactly two hours earlier than his weekday 8am. While most people used Sundays to catch up on much needed rest, Andrew used it for something a great deal weirder. At least that is what he had been told. Repeatedly.

A Beautiful View Reveals The Truth
Today for some reason, I felt an overwhelming urge to get up and out of the house. You know the saying, "The Mountains are calling and I must go?" It was that kind of calling; but different. It was like I was on auto pilot. Everything was happening with very little thought involved. I decided to hike a tough 12 mile section of the Appalachian trail, which I have done before. The objective was to get to this amazing view point, have a little lunch and enjoy what was going to be a stellar day of weather. I gathered my hiking gear and I was off.

A Gentleman's Addiction
“...to the sum of twenty thousand dollars!” The crowd broke out into raucous applause. The announcer smiled and clapped along with them as he left his place behind the podium to hand me my check. Thankfully it wasn’t one of those gaudy, oversized ones, but just a slip of paper in an overpriced card. The sum wasn’t as much as previous years, but 2020 had hit the industry hard. 2020 had hit everyone hard. That’s why I held such excitement, even as I smiled politely and waved from my table at the front of the large dining hall. Twenty thousand was nothing to frown at, even as the CEO of a company this size. My yearly bonus would definitely be put to good use. I hadn’t been able to partake in my favorite pastime for almost 8 months for fear of my company suffering for my own personal expenditures. I patted my breast pocket just to be sure. My little black book was safely tucked there, a record of all the pleasures in my life. It was time to add a few more names to the list it contained.

A Moment at Home
“One for whom the pebble has value must be surrounded by treasures wherever he goes.” – Par Lagerkvist Lester was a drive-up, a new boot, a fish. Right from the first I could tell he was headed for trouble. Not that coming to prison ain’t trouble enough, but once you get inside there’s a different kind of trouble free-world folks know nothing about.
