Another day, another dollar. I send a text to my love and she responds with “k”. I roll my eyes and recap the argument from last night in my brain. She yelled, I yelled. What the fight was about has very little importance to me. The fact that she can be still upset at me hours later sending slandering text is incredible. The stone church sits atop a pastoral hilltop. For over a century its bell strikes at high noon, like white noise in the peaceful village. This sweltering day, an old man lumbers slowly up its marble steps. As he reached the top, he turned around and mopped his brow while surveying the lush green valley. He smiled absent-mindedly then abruptly seemed to remember why he was there. He stuffed his handkerchief into his pocket and used both arms to open two massive, beautifully carved doors.

Introduction We all love the story of Aladdin and how he got the wishes from the Genie when he rubbed the lamp, and we would all like to be given a wish or two that would come true, but often even the simplest wishes may have unforeseen repercussions. We could wish for world peace, but that could be an Armageddon that destroys all life and therefore leaves the world at peace. I don't think that anyone who wishes for world peace would want that outcome.
