How Am I?
October brings out the best in me. I feel like I have to get things done just before we force ourselves to save all of that daylight, the leaves fall, and my students - once again - disappoint me with their midterm marks. It is also the first week after my birthday (now 51). I do not make much of a literal odd number like that, but I have something on my mind that needs to be handled.

10 reminders for those who don’t know what they are doing with their life.
The word hustle is often emphasized a lot by the social media influencers and motivational videos, the world we dwell in is established by humans who thrive in whatever they stumble upon. THE SCIENCE BEHIND FALLING IN LOVE: HOW CHEMISTRY, PSYCHOLOGY, AND BIOLOGY SHAPE OUR ROMANTIC BONDS
Do you know those warm fuzzy feelings that make us desire to be with someone more than anything else? These are primarily derived from our brains rather than our hearts, as romantic mythology would have us believe. We fall in love for a variety of reasons, and our bodies respond with a cocktail of hormones powerful enough to keep us hooked.

One Step at a time
The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step, a notion that I have embraced and ingrained in my psyche through the discourse of years. Life has its own ways of teaching you its lessons of joy, contempt, hatred, distress, love and healing. We dance, we stumble, we cry, we mourn and we get up. In the hours of plight we hold on to the tiniest peonies of hope, to get on the other side of life, to face the light, to face radiance that our soul craves and to be the best version of us that we have ever been. The healed version of us, the version of us that loves what they do and have faith in how far they can go and hold immense pride in how far they have come.

The language of lying
This leads to a compelling question: Is the problem with the detection techniques themselves, or is it rooted in the assumption that lying triggers physiological changes? Instead of relying solely on these methods, we could focus on the language of deception itself, employing communication science to analyze how lies are constructed. Psychologically, individuals often lie to create an idealized version of themselves, connecting their fantasies to the personas they aspire to be. However, while engaging in this mental exercise, our brains inadvertently release signals that can betray our true intentions.

Things I Get Wrong
Introduction For nearly two months (July 29th to 19th September) I did not receive a Top Story. I lost a lot of readers, and my paranoia was telling me I had been put on a blacklist. That caused me to be a little upset, but I could not speak to anyone about it. I was proved wrong but had accepted that there would be no more Top Stories and I would have to be satisfied with reads, which are still significant and then I formulated a plan to deal with the situation as I saw it.

learning to accept things how they are
Can any one else relate to caring so much about the people in your life, that it keeps you up at night? No... just me... cool cool cool. No I get it. Sometimes I care too much but it is only because sometimes (mostly all the time) if something goes wrong in their life, I blame myself. Crazy... right?

How Do I Move Forward After My Girlfriend's Betrayal?
Introduction: Relationships are built on trust, but when that trust is broken, even small lies can unravel everything. This story, originally shared by an anonymous Reddit user, explores the confusion and betrayal that can come with finding out your partner hasn’t been entirely honest. In this retelling, I focus on the difficult choices one man faces after discovering his girlfriend lied about her past relationship.

A love story.
The sun had started its drop, projecting a brilliant shine across the roads of the unassuming community. Elena sat by her window, the delicate breeze playing with her hair as she gazed at the skyline. She moaned, getting a little box from the side table. It was old, its edges worn from long stretches of taking care of. Inside, the container held letters — many them, all unsent, addressed to one individual: James.

Finding The Genie
Introduction We all love the story of Aladdin and how he got the wishes from the Genie when he rubbed the lamp, and we would all like to be given a wish or two that would come true, but often even the simplest wishes may have unforeseen repercussions. We could wish for world peace, but that could be an Armageddon that destroys all life and therefore leaves the world at peace. I don't think that anyone who wishes for world peace would want that outcome.

Why I Love Conversation
Introduction Yesterday I spent about six hours on trains and had forgotten my Kindle so couldn't play Backgammon, or read one of the hundreds of books on there (though I could have read them on my phone, but I find reading books on a phone a bit of a bind after a few pages) so I had a lot of time to think about the various forms of one-to-one communications we have and how some are more appropriate than others depending on the circumstances.
