Jack Of All Trades

Introduction

This was meant to be a comic observation of the standard of my writing and the various responses and non-responses that I observe on Vocal and further afield, but it is really a confessional piece, though you may find things that make you laugh or smile.

Jack Of All Trades Or Master Of None

I see lots of advice that we should concentrate on particular communities in Vocal and most creators tend to submit to POETS or FICTION with a few others that catch people's attention. PRIDE, PETLIFE, BEAT, MOTIVATION, JOURNAL and CONFESSIONS are other popular ones.

I am still a Vocal "Top Creator" in BEAT and CONFESSIONS but my last Top Story in either was more than two years ago so I am not sure why I am still there as my stories do not make the cut for those communities.

I do have the habit of making things extremely difficult for myself, but I do like a challenge, and if Vocal or someone else can't set it, then I will set it for myself, and very often I will fail and fall over the cliff because of something that I haven't considered.

I am the only Vocal Creator that I know who has posted in every community, admittedly some of them have just one post from me, but I think it is a great challenge to write for a community that you haven't got any real clue about.

So you can see I have tried to turn my hand to every community and you can see them all if you use the filter on my Vocal Profile, as many have only two or three:

These days Vocal Top Stories for me are as rare as hen's teeth, but I still get a lot of reads and comments and that brings in my coffee money. I know other Vocal Creators love my work and are incredibly supportive, one or two have even put my stories forward to be considered as Top Stories which is a lovely show of appreciation.

My main Vocal Communities are BEAT and POETS although WRITERS, FICTION, CHAPTERS and CONFESSIONS (where this will be posted) are others that I frequently post in.

So I am definitely a "Jack Of All Trades" and regard myself as a master of a few.

I am certainly an excellent poet, especially with Villanelles, Pantoums and Sonnets as well as creating the Plagiaristic Poetry concept which I will be using for a future book publication.

Although I am still learning how to self-publish on Amazon (I find the Kindle software awkward but I did document it here:

And that has resulted in eight book anthologies on Amazon so far

So as you can see I spread myself far and sometimes I succeed and sometimes I don't, but I think that I do well on Vocal, and I intend to be around, doing what I do for a long long time, because I enjoy it so much.

Conclusion

So I think my conclusion is that I am a "Jack Of All Trades" and a "Master Of Some". I think this has helped me make so many Vocal friends, and without their love and support, I could not do what I do.
