Introduction
These are just thoughts on good things happening and the effect they have on us, and in particular me because this is a confessional about things that have happened.
Sometimes Good Things Happen Unexpectedly
Most things and good outcomes are usually the result of something we have had input to ourselves, either on our own or in the company of others. When the results come in then we can feel happy and satisfied.
It may be going for a walk arranging to meet and catch up with someone, making a meal, creating some artwork, just tidying up, or something else. When it's done you usually feel better because a goal has been achieved in one way or another.
Every now and then, something wonderful comes out of the blue, and generally, that is even better than whatever you were part of. It may be the unexpected but all of a sudden you have something in your life that was not there before and wasn't even planned for.
I am lucky, because I have had these things happen to me, instigated by someone I know cares for me, and these unexpected extra shows that they care for me even more than I knew, and that makes me feel loved and appreciated, and that in turn makes me feel better about myself, and makes me want to do even more for those that I care about.
To know that the things that you do are appreciated by others close and far, really makes life worth living. While you do have to put things in, sometimes the returns are far, far more than you expect.
Sometimes I will be in a record shop and I will hear something I have never heard before, and then I will investigate further and end up with a new record in my collection that will be with me forever.
I love it when friends tell me about things that I am unaware of. My friend Julie told me about The Beehove in Alnwick and Fannie's Emporium in Morpeth and both have connections with each other. This is my piece on Fannie's Emporium and you can see why this is something that lifts my spirits, although I am not a fan of antiques. Each time I go in it is like an adventure exploring lots of unknown corridors, passages and treasures.
We get unexpected beautiful letters and compliments and all these raise our spirits and help us on our way through our lives.
I know sometimes we get bad or difficult news, but we should use our good news to balance that out if we can.
Every so often I get tips from my AI Art on Pixabay and one picture was used for the cover of a single, which was a wonderful surprise. Things like make you want to do much more:
I know I am a sucker for praise, attention and positive vibes but I hope that I give as much as I get. I would like to think that an unexpected call, card or present from me would raise a friend's spirit and make them feel better.
Conclusion
As I have stated several times in this piece, maybe I am just lucky that good things happen for me. I always have a positive outlook and mentality, but that is only possible because of the close friends and family that I have.
I hope that everyone can have situations similar to my own, and with that I will send a big thank you to you for reading the words that I have laid down in this Vocal story.

Congratulations, Mike—what a wonderful achievement. It was a nice surprise out of the blue, as you said.
Unexpected good things are the best!
Mike, you raise the bar on any day.
💙 send some luck my way, Congrats on the pic getting placed on a record cover that's some neat news <3
Way to go and I have also received very good news over here. I may begin facilitating an Adult Coloring Class for a community college where I grew up and the course is online.
