Done Overthinking with Fringe Mellow
Done Overthinking is a reflection of thoughts. I'm not sure exactly what was going on in my head when I wrote this one. I simply followed Henry into the studio and began writing as he started constructing an instrumental. I like making music this way because if the lyrics come together as the beat does, I think you get something that is more in sync with the mood and feel. I have written songs before to suit a developed instrumental and I think I translate its mood and vibe well however I think there is something special in writing at the same time as someone on a track. Henry was experimenting with sounds that seemed very open, free form, and fluid.

How This Album Made Me Who I Am Today
4 years ago, Joey Bada$$ released a (personally) life-changing album. The timing of this album is pivotal for me, as it came out right as I was approaching my senior year of high school. In my opinion, this album is a certified classic and will continue to age beautifully as it inspires the youth. With some of the most difficult subject matters to talk about, Joey Bada$$ sends a very loud message in his sophomore album. From police brutality to reparations, the black plight in America comes to the forefront. What’s almost heart-breaking looking back at it, is that every single theme is still relevant in this point in time, and almost prophetic at times. Read on to see how this album, essentially, radicalized me.

What did Meatloaf mean?
As only Meatloaf can tell this story and sing the song behind it. I am sure this has happened to all of us at one time or another. I know it happened to me, but it wasn't a female. I had been dating this boy for about a month and I went to see him. He put this song on, but the words he said to me were I hate you, I hate you, I never ever loved you. Then his mother escorted me out of the house. I learned a valuable lesson that day and it was not all relationships in the gay community work out either.

'Without You' - Skylar Astin
‘Without You’ - Skylar Astin I want to start by saying I’m a HUGE fan of Skylar Astin’s voice, his acting and just generally him as a human being. I have been following his social media for a long time now, patiently waiting for his debut release of original material. He proved in Pitch Perfect that he had the chops required to entertain us and his performances on Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist did nothing but solidify that. From Soulful hits like ‘New York State of Mind’ to his unexpectedly powerful rendition of ‘Numb’, Skylar Astin has shown us time and time again that he has an incredible talent to share with the world.

Never My Call
"Never My Call" is about the realisation that being there for someone doesn't necessarily mean having the answers. I wrote this piece with my relationship with my wife in mind. This song isn't a real account for any sort of drama we have sustained but it does speak of a maturing relationship. The first verse is about the prospects, the possibility, and the fantasy that new love can offer, and the second verse is about sustaining, accepting, and supporting.

Interpretation of great gig in the sky
Oh, The Great Gig in the Sky, it gives me chills just thinking about it. Not only is Pink Floyd my favorite band in the whole entire world this song on the album darkside of the moon, it is my most favorite song in the whole entire universe I wanted to interpret this song finally into words I turned it on lights off meditation pose and psychedelics.I love this song because you have to use your intuition and emotional self to understand it. Is this the actual literal meaning in which Pink Floyd wanted us to understand? My answer is , it doesn’t really matter whether it is or not, because it is my truth, it’s what resonates with me, after all the only thing that separates us all is perception. As I wipe the tears from my eyes I should proceed to explain my take on this wonderful melody. This collaboration of awesome sounds, and interesting opening in which a man is saying how “he is not afraid to die any time will do”. It never fails to amaze me the only words that are spoken after that intro are “if you can hear this whispering you are dying”. This is said almost subliminally. It tickles my fancy that anybody alive is technically dieing. oh what a clever little bunch they are. This song is sung in such a way, that your emotional self only can actually interpret what the singer is feeling. Making it almost a knowing. The attempts for man to attach to his own life. I mean it is kind of hard to to attach after all it’s all we know to be our real self even though it is not. Attempting to hang onto anything that gives him a sliver of his old self holding onto something that no longer exists, it’s merely a memory. He will kick and scream, Fight tooth and nail to take this non-existing self with him. Then finally realizing after a sea of emotions and almost going mad , well I am not going to say almost mad I think surpassing madness in coming to terms with his own mortality. In which you can only meet on the other side of madness. Then all this leads to grief , and loss it feels like your heart breaks along with this woman’s voice. I Continue to be carried by her Voice, then all of a sudden your heart falls to pieces, and when you can no longer take it anymore. Clarity acceptance, and peaceful feelings begin to warm your soul. It warms your soul because of relief. You feel no heartbreak instead you are light and free. Freeing you of the dense heavy burden we call our life. All of a sudden peace overwhelms you engulfing you in such a feeling the aaah moment. Almost like when you have to pee so bad you hold it for hours, and it hurts so bad it makes you sweat, and as soon as you let this loose you can feel the relief in which I speak of. A relief so beautiful it brings tears to your eyes and as I try to hold back these tears of love you just cannot help but let them shed then goosebumps take over your body. Well I don’t know about anyone else it’s the only way I can describe this song. Music is my passion , my drive, my escape , and the love of my life. Music can be interpreted in so many ways, thus customizing it for just you. This song is a piece of this great universe. A spec of magical fairy dust in our great gig in the sky.

Songs to Make You Happy Cry
One of the most important things my teenage years taught me is that anyone and everyone can use some encouragement now and then, a reassurance that they are good enough and everything will be okay. I found that encouragement and reassurance in songs from musical theatre.

Late to the Emo Scene, But Early to my Wake
Here is a quick warning for those unaware of what this playlist might entail: my life has been the epitome of a villain's tragic backstory, so there is an unhealthy amount of pain associated with some of these songs. Per contra, anyone who has a teenage angst playlist from middle and high school has associated an unhealthy amount of pain to their music, ergo, it should already be expected of such a collection. Regardless, if you are sensitive to certain topics, I would advise you to find different music to listen to.

It started with a mix tape...
Because of my age, I have bragging rights when it comes to the variety of formats in which I’ve immortalised musical compilations, mixes on: tape, CD, mini-disc, digital and video playlists. To craft the mixes, I’ve studiously waited for ‘the’ song to come on the radio and then pressed record on the tape deck, I’ve illegally downloaded on Napster, copied from physical purchases and now, I pay for Spotify Premium. I’ve both handwritten and typed the sleeve notes.
