Why Music Will Save Us
Ask yourself, when was the last time you have been listening to the music? Was it on your way home, as the beat has pulsed in your headphones, or did you hear it coming from the cafe on the street? Reality is, music takes a huge part in our lives; it's everywhere. One song can make you feel sad for no specific reason, while others will put a smile on your face.

Loving Your Talents
I don’t think there’s one genre of music that I don’t enjoy. When I look back on my life, I truly have been in every genre. I grew up on rock. I’ve always been really appreciative towards my mom who introduced me to legendary rockers, and when I hear their music now, I instantly go back to me as a little girl. Then in middle school and high school, I started loving musical theatre songs, but still listening to alternative and pop music. In college I listened to country and hip-hop. After college and now, I tend to gravitate towards female rappers and jazz music. It’s just so interesting to see my evolution within genres. There’s genres I prefer over others. But I appreciate all musicians putting their form of art out there. I love music. I grew up around it all my life and love discovering new music and re-discovering my old music.

The Garage Guitarist
It was late 1969, early 1970. I was 13 years old and had been learning guitar for about a year when I was given what I considered to be the key to a world of freedom. Mum & Dad said it was okay for me to setup my room in a shed inside Dad’s garage. The shed was the size of a small bedroom, about eight by ten in the old measurements. It was originally built from scraps of recycled building material from a 100 year old house and was initially used as a tool shed.

Joshua Tree. Top Story - June 2019.
It was a week after my youngest child’s birth. A very special time birth is, a new beginning not only for the child but for all of us. Baby’s mother wanted time to bond with the little one. So we pack up some things and leave for the day.

'Urban Tales Volume Two'
Urban Tales Volume Two is the second installment in the trilogy. Volume One dealt with growing up in the inner city with stand out stories like "Grandma's House" and "Life Like." The trilogy of Urban Tales is Artcha's mature take on life and growing through generations, culture, politics, education, and relationships. Volume Three is due in the last quarter of 2019 and there are plans to turn all of the musical stories into a theatre production at the top of 2020. Urban Tales Volume Two is accompanied by a short film by Artcha @artchatec Directed by @LDN.Creative and starring @jodyvleigh and @himalsoul. The film places the classic Romeo and Juliet scenario into modern context. How far has society changed when it comes to mixed relationships? In fact, this film opens the debate to relationships in general and the fundamental differences between men and women, addiction and restraint, the poor and the rich, the educated and the ignorant. Artcha has taken the roots of his second album, in the trilogy Urban Tales, to synthesize these ideas and broaden the horizon of what classic hip-hop storytelling can really do.

The Music Muse
Music is my muse, as well as my cultural common denominator and ever-evolving language. I am 68 years old and have worked as a journalist and author, but my supreme passion has been writing and playing music. The creative process used in pursuit of my art provides a direct link to my spirituality; it is my spirituality: When I write or play music, I feel connected to all things, understand most things, and take the greatest succor in being human.
