Because of You- I'm not Alone
Things had been hard since mom left. Dad wasn't sleeping, he was frustrated and angry all the time. Dealing with six kids by himself was more than he could carry. He was constantly short tempered and quick to discipline. I was too young at the time to understand he was just hurting, bad. When he got married to my step-mom, my 9 year old brain created the most beautiful story of how our family would be happy and whole again. I couldn't wait, we made it! Happy ever after!

Know Thyself
I’m Sorry, Forgive Me, Thank You, I Love You... The first line spoken word of the song that I wrote in 2016 in my darkest moments. The time I was confronted by my own private Hell! Just when you don’t think you can get any lower, and then you are staring into the abyss.

2019 Wrapped
*Denotes a name changed for that person's privacy. Spotify releases a personalized playlist every year of the 100 songs a member listened to the most. I keep mine saved and travel back in time with anthems that summarized weeks, months, and even full years at a time. Moving through 2019, each song had purpose. The music I've listened to truly does define my year and the mindset I've carried with me.

1 New Song Every Week
Happy birthday to myself! Another trip around the sun and STILL a pile of unfinished songs on my phone. You know the feeling? Short voice memos from 3 AM "dooo dooo dooo daaaa, and then the drums go bm bm bsh I looooove it when you..." Hundreds of them. That doesn't even factor in the songs you've kinda finished. Like the one from 6 years ago still on your old laptop? Or the 80 track monstrosity that you couldn't look at anymore?

Why Music Will Save Us
Ask yourself, when was the last time you have been listening to the music? Was it on your way home, as the beat has pulsed in your headphones, or did you hear it coming from the cafe on the street? Reality is, music takes a huge part in our lives; it's everywhere. One song can make you feel sad for no specific reason, while others will put a smile on your face.
