April 15, 1967 Dear Carly, I thought California was hot, but the air in Vietnam felt like it was on fire when I stepped off the plane. After twenty-three hours in the air, I don't think I ever wanted something to be over more in my life, and at the same time, I wanted to stay. I wanted to close the flight doors and ride that bird all the way back to you.

Resolutions
New Year's resolution noun: a promise to do something differently in the new year. ~ Every year, the clock counts down. Our voices raise to the sky. Ten..nine..eight all the way to one. A kiss to Auld Lang Syne. Then, a New Year is born, and we all have the chance to start again. To make this year the year, we jump our hurdles, crawl out of the holes we've dug ourselves into, and keep climbing our ladders of success.
