I Love the Hate
So, I just had the most views and subscribers on my YouTube Channel based on one video. It concerns the idea of Ayn Rand’s lack of influence on hip hop culture and the irony this presents. Miss Rand’s understanding of life, sex, and money should reflect with what rappers and other hip hop figures see in themselves.

My Boston Song
The intoxicating nature of Boston is not just in its many pubs and bars. It rests in the mind. I lived in Lowell, Massachusetts for over a year and in the state for close to two years in Brockton and Northampton. There are plenty of jokes about how Boston is the only city of importance in the state but I can attest the other locations served me well, too.

Leaning Towards Life
The Barbarian Invasions: A+ Synecdoche, New York: I Roger Ebert died at the age of 70 in 2013. In the previous decade, he named Charlie Kaufman’s Synecdoche, New York (2008) as the finest film of the decade. With his trademarked two thumbs up, he announced to the world that death was better than life. But he noted The Barbarian Invasions (2003) as a four star picture, just like the Kaufman film. He didn’t deem the Invasions film worthy of being the best because he, at the end, did not prize life. He, in his book Life Itself and the documentary based on it, shows how life is precious, and true, and right and good. It just didn’t seem that way with his selection of Synecdoche as his choice for best movie of the aughts.

Full lips and natural, long lashes hid behind her helmet. They were suspended in midair with jetpacks and wings and fins attached to their bodies.

A Whole Host of Friends
First class cocktails on the plane always seemed to be the best. Floating on a throne with a potent potable appealed to the senses. For Mohammad Azal, he had the luxury of enjoying a Caesar cocktail. The vodka and the Clamato juice mixed with the spiciness of the tabasco sauce and black pepper eased Azal's mind and allowed him to focus on the obituary. He nibbled on some tortilla chips.
