Our mind controls every part of our body and has so much power in shaping our lifestyles. There is so much you can do with a powerful mind, you could literally change the world if you put your mind to that. Just imagine all the great minds who have shaped our reality till today; Steve Jobs, Einstein, Nelson Mandela etc What were they possibly thinking and most importantly how were they possibly thinking in order to accomplish such feats. Having a mastery over your thoughts is very essential in everything you do, how you do it and what it’s able to realize in your life. With the fast-paced modern lifestyle which is all about working and pleasure, we rarely take a moment to explore our subconscious through meditation.

Feeling Trapped in Your Life
Have you ever felt trapped in your life, like you were in a never ending cycle of doing the same things over and over again? That's a very depressing feeling that some people go through in life, and I’m here to shed more light on that. This could happen to you whether you are doing good in life or not, you may just enter into a routine of doing the same things over and over again and your life ends up becoming this kind of movie where everything is predictable, and you see it coming. Unfortunately, you can’t just go ahead by trying to do new things because you are scared it might destroy all what you have already going on, the feeling can’t just vanish by thinking about different things either.

People prefer lies to the truth
I think it’s fair to say that in certain circumstances we prefer lies to the truth. For example, you won’t appreciate people telling you how bad you look if it were the case, we don’t like the truths which are pessimistic or just boring, we would rather believe a well crafted lie even when it defies reality. The reason we do this is actually very simple, it is mainly because the brain is lazy, the brain is a complex organ which has to process a lot of calculations simultaneously and the only way for it to be really efficient is for it to choose the fastest path to the solution.

How I fight against stress
With everything going on in the world right now and even just our daily lives can be filled with so many things which bring us stress. Either it is a boss who puts a lot of pressure on us, or its a child who falls sick, or maybe you lose a huge some of money, there is really no shortage of things which can really bring us stress. Its never good to have built up stress because the brain can’t manage being under stress for too long, you may have a mental break down which could lead you into a depression.

Why my Dad was hard on me
My Dad was hard on me but not negatively, it was more about him really pushing me and my siblings very hard on studies and being disciplined. He really went out of his way to push us to study, work hard in everything we did and avoid games, when I say hard I mean really hard. To kind of put things into perspective, there were nothing like public holidays, outings or celebrations, any single opportunity he had with us at home, you could be sure we’ll be hitting the books, every Saturday and Sundays saw us homeschooled; birthdays, new years, public holidays etc any time he was home with us, you could be sure of one thing, there was no playing around. Whenever he returned home he was quick to put an end to any and every semblance of play, we could only put in some game time or even watch Tv when he wasn’t at home, it became some kind of cat and mouse game to some extent, LoL We’ll all be wishing he goes out so that we could have time to watch some Tv and whenever we heard the sound of his car at the gate, that would be like the red alert and everyone would run in a frenzy trying to find a book to pretend to be reading.

What's stopping progress in Africa!
I can’t speak for every country or community in Africa and obviously my perspective isn’t a general one, I’m going to give my point of view to what might be the biggest obstacles to progress. Africa is infamous for poverty and the lowest development in the world, we’ve been here for as long as everybody else and yet it seems we can’t match the pace of others, why is that? There aren’t many things that all countries in Africa share in common other than poverty, even the most developed countries in Africa still have a high level of poverty. How is that possible that so many countries on the same continent share the same fate? How come the level of poverty in Africa is persistently high even in a modern society where we are making rockets to go to the moon. Is it that we don’t have resources in Africa? or maybe we just don’t know how to make use of them? How come people are dying of hunger even in countries with the most food on planet earth.

How I learned to enjoy reading
I don’t think we give enough if not any appreciation to the ability to be able to read, the title of this article actually sounds funny to myself, but this is a very important topic. If there is something which can be considered as one of the cornerstones of civilization and development of mankind, that will be communication. As opposed to other creatures out there who receive just the basic information from their parents and go on to discover the world by themselves, mankind has been able to carry itself to the top of the food chain by taking advantage of information, we are not only able to learn from our parents but even from other humans who have lived millions of years ago, we used this information and built up on it to evolve into something even greater.

The Mentality Prison
Well just in case you don’t know what mentality is then just understand that it is the way you think, and it can be different from one person to another but generally you can classify persons in different groups. You have the pessimists who always think negatively, the optimists who always think positively the narcissist and many other groups. In society, we tend to see different groups emerge based on status, you have the hardworking people who believe that everything is possible and you have the unlucky persons who feel like things are never going to work out at all. You can really see all the diversity in the way we as humans think on a daily basis, I’m not sure if we are predisposed to think in a certain way or if its the experiences we go through which shape our thinking but experiments have shown that even when you put two persons under the same conditions, their way of thinking could be totally opposite. This is to say that you can’t really mold a person’s mentality into what you want, all you can do is expose them to the right stimuli and hope for the best.

Resisting the temptation of Women
Well let me start by saying that I have no problem with women and this article is not aimed at making anyone hate women or disrespect them in any way. Society has evolved to make women more sexualized and that is used to market everything these days, from dresses to even music, and we are often caught up into this even without our consent. Men find themselves having to deal with a lot of these indecent imagery constantly, be it on Tv, social media, at the workplace or even on the streets, but somehow society has decided that only women can be sexually harassed.
