To ensure you have a healthy body, there are some good habits you need to pick up to make sure your body is well maintained, our bodies grow up with them before reaching their peak when they start deteriorating. With some good habits, you can maintain your body for a very long time and this begins by doing some simple things like daily habits. These might not always be the most comfortable things to do, they might even push you out of your comfort zone, but they are going to be really rewarding in the long run. Life expectancy isn’t just about how far you can live but it is also determined by how well you take care of your body, physically and mentally as well.

Waking up early

They often say, the day belongs to those who wake up early. That means that it is those who wake up early who are able to accomplish the most in their day. There is just so much of a relieving feeling to waking up early, by the time others are trying to adjust their eyes to the light, you are already ready to go. You are filled with energy very early on and ready to attack the day head on, another aspect I believe is that by waking up early, you give your body just enough energy. I think 4am might be too early for some person but 5am is definitely the time you want to be out of bed and into the refreshing waters of the shower.

Eating healthy

With all the synthetic foods out ther manufactured by companies only concerned about making profits, eating healthy has never been more important. The end goal is having a balance diet but unfortunately all those synthetic products are laced with products which make them addictive, you are only going to crave eating more and more of them and you’ll forget about eating anything else thereby neglecting important nutrients your body needs to develop. That can’t be good for you in the long run, so you might be having a fun time eating those junky foods right now but in a couple of years you are sure to come down with something which will affect your health. I’m no nutritionist but I believe the body needs a combination of vitamins and nutrients to stay healthy, all things which aren’t found in pizzas or burgers.

Drinking lots of water

The body runs on water and I think a greater percentage of our body mass is made of water. All this water needs to be replaced on a regular basis and that will only work if you take in enough water to do so. Water isn’t just for cooling, its in our blood, our eyes, nose, mouth and many other places. Its healthy to drink lots of water on a daily basis and it can’t cause you any harm You should take 2–3 bottles of water on a daily basis even if you aren’t thirsty, this purifies your system naturally and keeps you refreshed.

Reading

Growing up I didn’t like reading that much, it just felt like a chore and all the words just felt boring to me. I eventually came around and I realized that reading is an absolute necessity for everybody to pick up. There is so much information in books which can’t be translated into movies or music, a book contains so much information of great value that you’d be surprised all you can learn just from a single book. Everyone should pick up reading, it will help you in your daily life and build your focus and discipline, read about things you are interested in, read novels for entertainment and read about the biography of people in the past. I was suprised to see how related I was to some person even across the globe, we may have not been from the same society but our lives where even more similar than I could ever imagine and I could learn from his mistakes to better my life. No movie can capture all the essence of information written in a book, it can only highlight key moments.

Express yourself better

Communication is one of those foundations of humanity, we’ve had to learn how to communicate in order to work together and evolve. Learning how to express yourself is essential in every society you find yourself in, to understand others and to be understood is of priceless value. If you don’t know how to express your ideas and emotions rightly then you open yourself to the frustration of misunderstandings or being neglected in society. Being able to talk isn’t enough, you can know how to put words together but if you don’t know how to send across exactly your thoughts then you’ll end up receiving something different than what you wanted. Develop your expression skills and craft them to best convey your ideas to any and everyone you interact with.

Planning

Don’t let life just toss you as it sees fit, take control of your life and everything which happens to you. Plan ahead for the things you want to do and be aware enough to anticipate future problems. You shouldn’t live on the false assumption and hope that everything is going to be alright all the time but rather take measures to deal with problems when they arrive. Nobody is shielded from an accident, so you should have some savings which you can use to handle that, illness is a natural phenomenum which occurs in our lives, so you should know the first aid treatments to administer in case of emergency. Plan 5 years in advance, 10 years in advance, you might not know what will happen in the future but what can you plan for that far in the future.

Exercising Regularly

Sports is important to keep you fit and make your body last longer, building strong and resistant muscles will make your body last longer than soft and soggy muscles. You don’t need to get to a body builder level of strength but make sure you have a good stamina, a good form, and you can run at least 5 miles without breaking down.

Challenging Yourself

Leaving your comfort zone, you shouldn’t be ever too comfortable wherever you are, if you are not challenging yourself then you are going to grow bored very quickly. I’m not saying you should go out and look for trouble for yourself but rather that you should be always in an upward progression in whatever you are doing, not stagnant, not decreasing but rather progressing how over smoothly as possible. Push yourself to do things which make you uncomfortable but yet take you to that place of satisfaction, reading in school wasn’t fun, spending all nights up studying wasn’t fun but it took me to the place where I had good grades and I can be proud of it. If there is nothing challenging you in your life then there is a problem.

I know most of our lives have been transferred online, right now you are reading this article online, watching movies online or even communicating with loved ones online all of which are essential for us but its important to take a break from all this from time to time, to disconnect from the virtual world and take a deep breath of nature. We came from the dust of the earth, we were not bytes in a machine, so no matter what we do, we are still going to find our roots in nature. Disconnect from the virtual world and return to nature from which you originated, enjoy the beautiful skies, the fresh air and the incredible views of nature, play outside and have fun just being.
