Dancing Across the Stars
A poem I wrote about a very dear friend who passed away some years ago. We knew each other since high school days. I was in contact with him even when I moved to Latvia and my late husband and I met with him when we visited NYC at the end of the 1990s. I miss him especially on very sunny and warm days when we would walk the streets of Manhattan NYC together. I suppose the two of them have met up with each other up there and are beaming at me from above. The photo is of me and my friend Frank.

Knowing It Was True Love
Harry felt so bad when he saw Julie crying her heart out on the bench outside of the Universtiy of Texas. They had met on the campus when they started the final semester at the university. Harry remembered how Julie's auburn hair seemed to flame against a beautiful autumn sunset. His heart seemed to be racing as he introduced himself and took her hand. They had become a couple and were getting closer every day. Then came the spring and a girl from his past enrolled at the university in mid-semester.

Restless Spirits In Greece
Tortured Spirits Ano Lehonia is a lovely, quiet village where you'll find Villa Kazouli. The mansion was built in 1910 for Russian Ambassador Nikolas Kontos. Spirits are restless here according to legends surrounding the strange deaths of the Kontos children. Supposedly a dead lizard fell into the milk jub and the children were poisoned when they drank the milk. The house became headquarters for the Nazis in 1941 and many Greek rebels were tortured and killed in the basement. As a result, their tortured spirits got trapped in this world and at night strange noises can be heard and by the windows silhouettes can be seen.

Dancing, Dreaming, and Romancing
When it comes to the movies you have to admit that Hollywood transports us to incredible places and brings out many emotions from us when we sit there in the dark and that giant screen lights up. We wind up so wrapped up in what is happening on the screen that we live along with the story and often times find ourselves both laughing and crying and just plain wanting to cheer. The only thing we cannot do is to dance in the aisles but some songs from the movies have made us want to do just that and isn't that a wonderful feeling?
