Meaty Good
Europe Sweden Kottbullar are famous Swedish meatballs. These meatballs are crispy brown on the outside and have a tender texture on the inside. The meatballs are made with ground beef mixed with pork or veal and seasoned with onions, salt, pepper, and allspice. Once mixed, they are shaped into small, round meatballs and browned in hot butter. The meatballs are served with lingonberry sauce, creamy mashed potatoes, and thick gravy. For a lighter meal, they can be served with cucumber salad or red cabbage.

Windy Wellington
New Zealand’s capital Wellington, sits close to North Island’s southernmost point on Cook Strait. This is a compact city that has a mix of different things such as a waterfront promenade, sandy beaches, a working harbor and colorful houses made with timber sitting on the surrounding hills. The weather is usually sunny and mild but strong winter winds have been known to blow through Cook Strait, giving the city the nickname “Windy Wellington”.

An Unforgettable Teen Idol
David Cassidy did what most American teen boys would like to do. He became a teen idol and had thousands of teenage girls madly in love with him. However, becoming a teen idol is a big responsibility because you can get so caught up in all of the madness that you lose a sense of who you really are. Another thing that makes teen idols vulnerable is that all of their popularity can disappear as quickly as it began. David Cassidy had his day in the sun but as all teenage boys do, he grew up and even though he tried to stay popular and talented he never achieved the stardom of other rockers such as Billy Joel or Bruce Springsteen. That is a hard thing to accept and David Cassidy took it so hard that he turned to alcoholism.

Beautiful Brussels
The capital of Belgium, Brussels is an incredible city. It offers visitors a chance to see lots of impressive 17th-century buildings and there are daily flower markets. Looked upon as Brussel’s Eiffel Tower the Atomium which reopened in 2006 offers spectacular views both inside and out. The city also has lots of wonderful green spaces where people can commune with nature and relax.

Tears for the King of Rock and Roll
I am sure that Elvis greeted his daughter Lisa Marie Presley when she joined the souls in Heaven unexpectedly when she passed at the age of 54 on January 12, 2023. It got me to remember how it was when her father, Elvis died. When it comes to this legendary singer I believe lots of us can remember where we were when we heard the news of his death. Elvis Presley was only 42 years old when he died and left every fan all over the world with tears and an aching heart. I was in Canada visiting friends when I heard the news. My friend in New York City had a ticket for his next scheduled concert and she kept that ticket as a special souvenir. It was also the time I completed my Elvis record collection and spent days just listening to him singing.

Christchurch on South Island
Christchurch is a lovely garden city located on South Island in New Zealand. It sits on the east coast of the Canterbury Plains. The Avon River runs through the city center and upon its banks are cycling paths, the wondrous Hagley Park and the Christchurch Botanical Gardens. Unfortunately two major earthquakes one in 2010 and one in 2011 destroyed many city-center buildings and restoration work began.
